The miracle of the Holy Fire/ Light occurs (predicatably) once a year during Eastern Orthodox (Christian) Holy Week.

Makes for an interesting read.

This one is from a past year

Happy Easter...to those who observe it,

and a Joyous Spring to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere!

I hope you Southern Hemisphere folks have a quiet autumn/winter.

HAPPY EASTER!

No matter what anyone says or does we are all forgiven and worth loving!

PEACE!

Happy Easterbunny Everybody!

I had easterbunny for dinner last night. My nieces and nephew are now traumatized, because there were no chocolate eggs this morning, I ate those too. They are sulking under the stairs right now. Later I'll let them polish the floors and do the dishes, that'll ground them in reality.

Happy Easter!

So what's on the menu today at your home for today's meal?

Spit roasted lamb
Spinach pie (spanakopia)
Feta and kasseri cheeses, calamata olives (never pitted and never canned)
Meatballs as appetizers (with mint)
Orzo (rice-shpaed pasta) in totmato sauce cooked in the lamb drippings right in the oven.
Oven-roasted potatoes with lemon and orgeno cooked in the fat from the meat.
Peas yahni (in totmato sauce with onion and dill).

and for dessert baklava!

YUM!

Nothing spectacular here.

Made a stuffed bread with boiled eggs wrapped in parma ham with parmesan, morzarella and ricotta cheese, sundried tomatoes, fresh basil and button mushrooms. Served a slice or two of that with a nice, tender rib-eye fillet steak fried in butter, medium rare.

In the morning we had french toast with bacon fried in maple syrup.

P.S. Floors are very shiny and dishes clean ;0)
