This video came up as a suggestion on my YouTube (naturally :) ), and in it is a Top Loading Dryer - I didn't know these things existed, and when googling, can't get anything up on them.

More shocked at that, than the fact that she seems surprised at the fact there is no scent on the laundry (she is reviewing a Free and Clear laundry product :/).

If anyone is interested.

Well you learn

Something new everyday. I really didn't know they existed, had 2 top loading washers and wondered about toploading dryers, but just (wrongly) assumed such a thing did not exist.

iej, any particular reason they are popular in France? Don't they use frontloading washers in the main like us?

Topload dryers have been available in Europe since the 1960's on and off. Here's a thread with some pictures.

H-axis topload washers are rather popular in France, especially in Paris, where living space comes at a high cost. There are also H-axis topload washer/dryer combos for the people in a tiny Paris apartment. How is your French btw?

My F&P dryer will be 12 years old next month.  Considering the several times I've talked about my F&P machines on here, including a repair pictorial of the dryer in January 2014, and a pic of the dryer is my current profile picture ... this confirms that either some of the people skip/overlook a many of the posts in general ... or mine specifically, LOL.

Actually I was just reading the thread in which you mention buying that set.

Shoppers Square

I posted one for sale on ebay in August Shoppers Square - reply 31, it was relisted a couple of times, not sure if it sold. I recall seeing one branded as Bloomberg (or whatever that old Comet exclusive brand was) in the early part of the 2000s

Thanks

foraloysius.

Not at all DADoES :)

I'll admit, my appliance knowledge (especially about ones I didn't know existed) is limited, so will most likely not have looked at ones mentioning about repairs, but I will have a look now.

Just reading

Through the thread foraloysius, glad too see I wasn't the only one who didn't think they could even work. I'm just 5 years late to the party :P

That old thread is a little funny now, considering some of the assumptions and conjectures I initially made about the machine's operation and design that proved to be off-the-mark!
