My sewing machine got jammed up last night, i cleared the thread out of the bobbin, however it still will not sew, the motor spins but the needle seems to be stuck up, i have no idea why, the feed dogs don't even move. Hopefully one of yall can help out on this here, i have a Viking Emerald, if that helps any.

Watcha making?

Is the clutch engaged?

The small knob within the larger flywheel (the one you turn towards you off the top to move the needle) on the right side.

If not tight and engaged, the mechanicals of the machine are not grabbing energy from the spinning flywheel.

I am making a quilt toggel

yes i have checked the clutch, and it is engaged, however i have noticed that the feed dogs are not moving, I have yet to check the shuttle assy, It's weird cause it's never jammed before and i have sewn numerous things with it jeans, suede, leather, and smooth as silk, for some reason it seems like the gears are stripped, i would hope not cause Husqvarna is supposed to be one of the top brands, and i paid almost 3k for it, on sale.

I was in stitches! literaly!

Oh my gosh,Speed Queen! You must be in stitches!!!My grandmother had a Hochschild Kohn brand sewing machine from the now defunct Hochschild Kohn deprtment store in Baltimore,Md.She told me that it's needle was a "safety needle"that wouldn't hurt you.So, I stuck my index finger under it and stepped on the pettle full throttle!I was truly in stitches!!It was all she could do(my grandmother whom we called"Mado")not to laugh hystaricaly as she pulled the thread out of my bloody finger.

Ok Laundromat

That is a funny story, luckily i have not sewed my finger, i figured out what the problem was, there is a reset button on the machine, when it gets jammed, i have reset it and it runs like a champ again, now i can finish my quilt.

I Love Lucy

Any sewing machine collector that has any sense of humor may remember the episode where Lucy goes on a budget and decides to make her own"dress" and give herself a severe perm where she leaves the curlers with the chemicals(Lilt Home Permanent)on for 6 HOURS!!!! She rents a sewing machine and looking for the bobbin, she opens the little door and says to ethel "Oh look, there it is,it's bobbin!" LOL
