I think I am missing a part on my nice used Fairfax Vacuum.
The bags wont' stay on the horn inside the machine. They get sucked off when I turn the machine on. Does anyone TERRY?? SCOTT?? RICH??? know if there is somekind of clip that holds the bag on the horn??
Right now it just slides on and that isn't working.
The model number is " SCPD7 the ser is D53734

Hi Jet! Why don't you try Charlie Lester at [email protected]. He is a vac friend of mine in LA, and the only other person I know who has or has had one of these. He may know the answer to your question!

Fairfax bags

Hi,

I gave my mom the Fairfax last year afte she trashed a FilterQueen, and I had to special order the bags for it. their like Sears Kenmore 5055-50558 In which they have a rubber seal inside the cardboard O. this hols it onto the lip at the end of the inlet tube.

I think like Silver-King Fiterbags were kinda a afterthought to these machines as I believe at one point they were all meant to filter by just using the large round paper disks that clip up into the motor housing using a huge plastic flexible O ring, that clips up the filter to the motor.

If your not able to find Genuine Fairfax bags, go to sears and find the replacement bags for their pre-swivel hose canisters that have the O ring seal on them. They have worked for me in a pinch, and in fact when she ran out of the few filterbags that were genuine Fairfax, and until I re-ordered them for her, I used the 5055 # bvags and they did just fine.

Anyway no matter what keep the Fair-Fax, it's like the vacuum equivalent of Wonder Womans Golden Lasoo, and has yet to fail under my mothers apparently unfortunate hatred for home appliances.

I would call around and see if any of your local vacuum stores have the genuine replacements, if you have not allread IMHO.

Chad
