Yes, forgot about the separate stepper motor arrangement used as well, My 1975 Liberator 1851/03 is fitted with the earlier CROUZET timer with two motors one for the sub interval cams and the other for advancing (stepping) the main cam, later changed to the A.K.O. timer in 1976 model 1828/01, single motor and solenoid.

Timers

Hello Lee
Those AKO timers sounded lovely loads clicks and pings i remember it well.

I was looking in a Hoover service book today (1991) and it covers all models around the logic 1200 here..........bloody frustrating, they made so many variants of one model, for shops etc

Maybe if we get the timer model number i can find a diagram that fits that.

Anyway we shall see how he gets on with his new thermostat.

Well i will know more on Wednesday, because it's my day off work so i can spend all day trying to pinpoint where the problem lies on this truly wonderful machine.

Ho Goody Goody!

Good Luck to the repair! I Love repairing washing machines (Which makes people think i am a bit wierd)! I am looking out at taylors to find the machine we had when i was a baby (Some 10 years ago), The Hotpoint WM64 or WM62. A Man i know found a hotpoint 9560 (I Think) Tumble Dryer and got it working good. If only other people were like us and did not throw away machines just 'Cause' They need a new soap draw for example. My 3KG Zanussi Compact machine only needed a new set of bearings and a clean down which the previus owner could not be bothered to do. Luckily i saved it from the skip anyway. I am also looking out for a shot out hotpoint wm63 to use for my project. Please check out my vids, i have got youtube so you can see videos of my machine i restored - More coming soon!.

Henry.

Goody Goody

Hello Henry,

Well let me start by saying there's nothing wrong or weird about enjoying & repairing washing machines, from about 5 years of age i was hooked on them. First of all starting with our mams second hand Servis compact wringer machine then on to our first Automatic washer which was a Creda square door rhythm spin 800 which i would absolutely love to come across again but i think i would have more chance of winning the lotto than finding one. On the subject of people getting rid of old washing machines, yeah that really gets to me. If only i had a big warehouse it would be stacked full by now. It's so annoying seeing a classic machine just being thrown away especially when you know fine well that you could possibly repair it. As for WM60-62-63-64 Aquarius washers we come across these almost everyday.

Logic

Hi Craig,

Nice condition machine you've got.
I've got the Washer Dryer version of your Logic 1200 AutoWasher, mine's the Logic Premier (Special Edition) 1250 A8576.
Had a few issues to start with, but works perfectly, alongside my Servis Sapphire & Zanussi JetSystem.
When I was a kid, we had the EcoLogic 1200 AutoWasher A3954 & matching dryer D6722, the washer died in 2001, but we've still got the dryer.

I have the booklet containing the A3954 & your A3786, the book including your washer, also includes the washer dryer that my A8576 is based off, if you're interested, I'll post you copies of the pages.

I've attached afew pics of the Logic Premier for you to compare to your Logic.

If you're interested in dating your Logic, my Logic Premier's from October 1990, if you speak to Paul Nichols, he'll be able to accurately date it for you, just provide the model - A3786 & it's serial number, if it's still inside the door for him.

Logic

Henry,

I still have the Ultima WM72N but the circuit boards have been repaired about 3 times now without any success so i'm waiting for a old Ultima to turn up so i can transfer the boards into mine.

CJ,

I have watched all your recordings on Youtube & i really enjoy watching them. Well my Logic has the turquoise paddles so i guess it has had a drum replacement in the past. I have downloaded a instruction book from the Hoover website but it's for a Logic 1000 spin, but apart from that it's exactly the same.

Thought it would be just a matter of pulling off the old stat & pushing the new one on without having to remove the rubber seal but there was just know way of pushing it on.

Just to be make sure that it would be water tight i applied a generous amount of sealant all the way around the seal & around the thermostat housing before really struggling to push it back on. So what i thought would maybe take 5 minutes to do ended up taking well over 30 minutes. I will let the sealant dry over night & i will try it out tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will now heat up to the correct temperature!

Seal, yes the rubber grommets can be a little tricky at times, I have found it’s best to remove them, give it a good clean and then re-seat the complete unit. Some times a little smear of washing-up liquid can help if very troublesome.

Back of the drum is nice and clean, no signs of being in a hard water district.

Looks like it is in great condition!

I bet it doesn't take hours to complete a load eh ? (Just a little dig at my Beko WM5100W by the way).

Fan of the WM64!

Excellent Progress, Keep the updates coming.

When i did the thermostat on my Zanussi, i found that it was not the stat causing the heater not to work, it was the plug terminals on the heater. The ends have worn down so I scraped the end where the plug had been against the wall, then refitted and it worked fine.

I am currently doing an electrical project including writing my own programs after seeing lees project that he did. This Silly computer though keeps throwing up an error with the program i am using (MPLAB IDE V8.83) starts. I am now starting to work on motors too.

My programs are being based on the Hotpoint WM64 we had - but instead of the tumbles when draining i will have mine to go to distribute at the start of drain, providing the pump works ok with it.

The WM64 We had was the best machine, until one day in 2005 when it ended up on the back of a skip lorry.

Chip diagram. I will be using a 24 pin chip.

Logic

Well all is good, no leaks & it is now heating up to the correct temperature of 50,60 & 90deg. I have added one thing that just finishes it off & that is the classic red Hoover logo badge.

Hoover

Yes it is Lee,

Two wash loads have been done in it today & it worked spot on & it washes far better than any new washer on sale these days.

Wow, it looks so very great!!

I´ve had an Hoover ÖKO Logic WA1000 De Luxe, but i´ve must give it away, bt it was irreperable broken :(

at the moment is a Hoover ÖKO Logic WA1200 De Luxe in my near, but i think, that had an big problem too...

Hope you make videos of it

Haha,

Zanussi lover. I'm still trying to get to grips with taking photo's on my camera & i'm not very good at that let alone making a video, but you have got me thinking because there is a video recording facility on my camera.

Jamie,

Those Beko WM5100W washers are built really well, we have sold loads of them. Just a shame Beko didn't think of putting a time saver option button on them. Thank god for the 30 minute quick wash because if i was to tell a customer how long a standard 40d cotton cycle lasted they would run a mile.

Red Hoover Badge

Hi Craig,

Did the hoover badge come with the machine? Or did you buy one?

If you bought it, can you direct me to where you invested in one? So I can get one for my Logic Premier.

Thanks.

CJ

Logic Model Number

Hi Craig,

Just been looking at my last Logic AutoWasher, it was an Aristocrat Logic 1300, model A3678, there are 02 vids of it on YT. I got it as a set with a Hotpoint Aquarius Ultima 1400 AutoWasher 9566, which's going to my Uncle soon, unfortunately the Aristocrat Logic went back to the shop as it wasn't running properly, but, after the fault issues with the Logic Premier when I first got it, I'd say the issue was the PCB board that'd become unfastened from the cabinet wall where they were positioned upon production.

I've attached a pic of it for you. Same model number as yours, just the number digits swapped round.

When I get a few spare minutes, I'll create a new thread with each page of the 03 different Hoover range brochures I've got, plus some of my pixel perfect replica's to go with.

I'll let you know when the thread's been created & the pics/replica's added to it.

CJ
