museum hoovers
Great find and work Gary, looks great all lit up, and you've done a great job sorting out all the problems. Well until the videos come out I'll just have to make do with an orange neon and an 1100 spin lol.
Yes I think most of us wouldn't mind a pewter new wave lol.
Before you all come flocking to St Fagans, the picture Paul posted was at Cyfarthfa Castle museum at Merthyr Tydfil, name ring any bells lol. That where some 12 years or so ago I went to see for the first time the Keymatic in the flesh.
The museum of welsh life, at St Fagans in Cardiff, is a place where important buildings are dismantled and rebuilt in and around the grounds, similar to iron bridge and Bemish. These include , workmens institutes, school buildings, chapels etc and in 1987 a row of Merthyr terrace cottages were opened, each cottage being a different period ending with the 50s and 1980s, to which Hoover donated the current Hoover logic 1300, I think in in beige to match the 80s kitchen, it is the timeline model, and when I last went had still had the pipes in the drum, but no vintage ariel lol.
The out house of the 50s has a single tub and wringer and 119 hoover junior, niether being in great condition.
They also have in the last 5 years opened up a postwar prefab, complete with built in wash boiler, it would be a great venue to go demonstrating the new Hoovermatic lol.
Anyway a back to thread great work gary, lol
