As I posted on another thread the Indesit is on the blink so seeing as we were desperate for towels and work clothes we agreed to install this machine for a few washes namely for the 1300 spin, lower water and energy consumption and largish load so I could catch up on as much washing as possible.

The carbon brushes were changed when we bought it so all that remained was a quick wipe over and away we went after a quick rinse and spin out.

oh......cool

I love ecologics. was going to buy one but it went really high n it was nearby. :(

Looks gr8 in ur kitchen as darren says :)

LoL- it reminded me as my gran used J on her logic minimum iron 50oc all the time and when it went on crease guard she'd put it on F so special treatments follwoed by 1200 spin.

Nice one. Love the arty shot, very similar to the one Darren and I did years ago now with a pair of shoes and a big bottle of Bold alongside the Logic.

BTW I haven't seen the tall boxes of Ariel before, how many washes is it? 60?

Jon

BTW Rob it's just occurred to me.... It's only struck me now that you have a box of Ariel besides your machine and not Persil. Has the new smell put you off too??

Jon

The smell?????

yep not to mention the rather poor cleaning Jon.

What the bloody hell have they done to Persil?

The box size is 3.36kg and 42 washes.
Its rather retro too. Nice to have tall slim boxes back.

Persil lost scores with me for not being able to clean white cotton dishcloths or stained teatowels to even an acceptable standard and thats even on a boil.

Ariel still needs the 95degrees to work magic IMHO but it really does do the job.

Am flitting between softeners though, Lenor Breath of Fresh Air and Comfort Aloe and Blue.

I believe that Persils scents will be changing again soon (according to the Lever rep) and a reformulation but I will believe it when I see it. For now they have lost my custom.

Well the news is in too folks and thats to say the Hoover does actually clean better than the Indesit which I didnt think it would.

The 95degree wash barely takes 1hr 50 compared to 2hrs 30 in the modern machine and the results were (only just better to my eye) but the shorter time it took makes it all.

Nice one - where do you find that size? The only boxes I've seen have been 10, 28 and 50 wash but that's at Asda and Sainsbury's. Not paid attention to the powder in Tesco for a long time.

Can't wait for the Persil reformulation - I loved the previous formula and it definitely was better than Ariel. I had a small slither of hope that the smell would change when it got concentrated, but alas it didn't :-(.

Mentioned in another thread that I got some comfort Aloe the other day with the matching Persil Naturals powder - will have to test it out when I get the chance :-).

Soap powder...

I've found that Bold and Surf both have good results. Also, Asda's own is pretty good and nice and cheap too. The Bold Liqu-tabs and tablets both perform well and I've used the Surf powder which was good too. Asda's comes in liquid, liqu-tabs, tablets and powder - all of which I've found works well on various cycles and temperatures. Hope this helps :)

DAMMIT!! I wish I had room for a FL as I would LOVE one of those machines. My singing teacher used to have a TOL Ecologic and still does I think (gets little use). A local shop had a second hand one in the window for months and was SO tempted. Kitchen would need reconfiguring and I ain't doing that!!

Rob...

..does this machine do that clicky thing when it starts? My aunt has the same model and I always remember it clicking when it first comes on.

Rob

So then I hope there is no delay with those drum lifters arriving, hate for you to have to suffer the hoover for much longer lol. Glad your having such fun with the ecologic and getting such great results, but then its what we knew all along lol. All the best for the indesit repair, chat soon
