Hello all

I replaced the heating element on the Hotpoint WMA58 a few weeks ago. However it still isn't heating :(

The wires all seem fine that connect to the heating element itself. Could it be the opposite end connections of the wires being loose or something? If so, where are the opposite ends of those wires?

Also, the wash process is normal, nothing seems wrong with that. The temperature dial is working too as when I select 'no heat' it fills with cold water and when I select 50oc+ it fills with hot water.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

Got round to opening the Hotpoint up today. Checked all wiring, and there was a purple and green wire that had broke which connected to the board behind the control panel.

Got it connected after some work with wire strippers etc and hey its heating up to the correct temperatures :)

Hey

Yeah, I was determined to get it fixed as its a really good machine that does a few loads every day and has been working very well for the last 8 years.

The hotpoint was our second washing machine when we first had our dyson then gave it up as my aunts machine broke. I prefer this over the new hotpoints as it has the powerstream wash system, decent wash times and excellent performance. I know many people didn't have luck with these machines but this ones been trouble free uptil recently.

I hope the LG will last a good few years as we've only had it just under a year.
