We bought a house with a Maytag performa set installed, and they both work well, but the dryer's end of cycle buzzer is SO INCREDIBLY LOUD!!!!! It isnt just loud, it is like "wake all the dead in jackson county" Loud. How can I disable the buzzer, the dryer is in the next room off of the main living area, and is loud enough running that you can tell when it shuts off. We have almost never used the signal on any other dryer, but on this one, that isnt an option. It is a pretty basic dryer (natural gas) with two temp selections (low and regular) and three cycles (timed, regular automatic, and wrinkle free automatic) unfortunately no selection for end of cycle signal. I know I will have to open the control panel, but have no clue what the buzzer looks like or how to remove/ disable it. Hopefully this can be done, any help would be appreciated. thanks!

This may be a task for electro mechanical knowledgable DIYer......and I'm only saying it for safety first......don't dig into something if you don't feel confident about it....

not knowing what machine you have.....and to simplify matters......

go to a parts place online....like PartsDirect.com.....punch in your model number, and most likely it would be found inside the control panel......search for the buzzer, and by following the diagram, open your control panel, and pull off one of the wires, for safety, wrap electrical tape around the wire end....

problem solved!.....
