How to get a new miele into service mode...

Hy guys maybe there was already a thread about it, but I didn't found the right answer in the archive so after a few hesitations, I post this new thread. My friends BOSCH held strong for 10 years, but it's gone for sure. They bought a Miele homevision (a special W1000 version) with the 2 componentdoor. I was talking to them last night and they told me they think it's not heating properly. I said if I get into service mode I could check that out. My miele (the beloved Gold2000 version) allowes me by holding the start and short button and power the machine with a closed door at the same time to enter the service mode... I tried that serval times but I can only get into the 'option' mode where you can programm the soak time, or the water + function. Any idea how to get into the servicemode. I did find the W700 codes by they are not the same anymore...

Service mode

On my W3985 you close the door with the machine switched off. Then whilst holding the start button in you switch the machine on with the on/off button. When the start button begins to flash you let go and press it quickly either 3 or 5 times (holding it in on the last press) depending on which service menu you want.

I got into the service mode but apparently it's not possible anymore to 'test' the differnt components of the washer without a PC link. I just oculd modifier the washer a bit more. But one thing I did not undertand... what are the differences between the 'land'modes. What's so different about washing in sweden than doing laundry in belgium?

Hi Askomiele,

If you're only getting the extra options, then you're pushing start too many times.

There is still a service mode on W1511 and 1611 that we get here.

Either three or 5 presses gets diag mode and then either 5 or 7 gets the additional programming.

That works on my W2888 and any model I've tried it on that has a screen.

It's interesting that the wash programmes are quite a bit shorter in Swedish mode, and quite a bit longer in Australian mode.

I set my W844 on swedish mode before running a minimum iron load . I didn't catch any difference in timing - levels - cadences. Let's see what happens on the cotton cycle.

Have to say this is a 10 y.o. machine ... things change fastly

I've not actually tried running them in Swedish mode, but the remaining time indicator is definitely showing a shorter length of time.

I've got my 2888 programmed to Euro mode, a full non intensive cottons 50 takes about 1:20, intensive would be 1:50. In AU Mode its only 40mins or 2:10.

On Mums W1511 Euro mode is 1:30 for a non intensive Cottons 50 or 2:10 for intensive. AU Mode is 40mins and 2:10. The difference between the machines is the weight sensing, so mums just goes for the maximums each time.

The water levels and the spin profiles are the noticeable difference between the two. In AU mode the rinse levels on cottons always stay below the boot. In Euro mode if it detects an absorbant load (towels etc) it'll fill 2" up the door glass.

In AU mode, the final spin takes 8 minutes, the machine is on a tiled covered wooden floor and I've had huge problems with vibration. AU Mode, it basically just goes for it, it distributes and then ramps up to 1200rpm in a linear fashion. The final 2 minutes are then at the max speed chosen (Up to 1800rpm)

In Euro mode, the final spin takes 12 minutes, it goes from distribute and gradually ramps up to 1200 it pauses at a few speeds along the way, determines what the balance is like and once its stable progressess to the next speed. >1200 rpm spins are still only for the last 2 mins.

Other than that, the tumble patterns etc are pretty much the same.

I'm holding out for the 7kg machines to arrive here and then I'll shuffle mine around so my brother gets mums and we end up with the behomoth.
