4 blips in the power so far- just enough to pop the lights etc off for 1/2 a second. I tried getting some video of the howling winds through the trees, but it just doesn't capture it. Kind of wimpy looking if I were to view it as an outsider.
However, it's anything but, and we're not even getting the worst of it like some others are. When I was going to shoot some vid out the front door, I noticed a cruiser had parked maybe 75 feet from our driveway in front of a fallen tall pine on the edge of the MDC (Mass District Commission) land- it marks the underground public water supply that travels through Southborough into Boston. I thought it was one of the cops I knew, so Rich and I donned shoes and coats and popped out to see if we could help. We were at the end of our drive when we heard a kind of popping sound and another pine a little further in (away from us) came over right next to the first one. It just uprooted and fell. Luckily there was still the better part of a lane to travel, so we all just stayed clear and waited for the road crew to arrive.
The extension cords are in place, just waiting in case we have to fire up the generator. We've talked about getting a new one that holds more gas and is quieter, but haven't gotten there yet. We went 2+ days with this one that runs about 1 1/4 hours on a fill and it's been dependable for 15 years, but quieter and longer-running would be nice! We're looking at the Duro Max 4400, with or without electric start. One of Rich's patients has this model and it's very nice!
Good luck to all,
Chuck
