I found my dream stove for only $50!!!!!!!!

I have always liked the looks of the 1950-1954 Frigidaire Thrifty 30 ranges and always dreamed of having one in my kitchen. Well I finally found one close by to where I live for only $50 and yesterday I bought it. It is totally complete even down to the 3 tiny knobs on the clock and I was told that everything including the clock worked when it was removed from service just recently. I am so excited to get it cleaned up as it is filthy with grease but other than that it seems to be in really fantastic shape. After I get it cleaned up I intend to have it looked at to make sure all the wiring and electrical components are in good order before I bring it into my kitchen. The picture below shows what the stove looks like in its present state of greasiness and there will be more pics coming after it has been cleaned. I still can not believe my luck at finding such an awesome stove at such a great price!!!!!

and let me tell you Dave it is quite thoroughly covered in rust inhibitor LMAO!!!!!! That does not bother me though as some Easy Off Oven Cleaner and some Jubilee Wax will make this beautiful stove look 1953 new again. PAT COFFEY

Thanks for the kind words Jeannine. I have always liked the look of the early 1950's Thrifty 30's like mine. I think one of the things that appeals to me is the fact that this range has a stylishly massive look to it, it looks heavy and quite substantial. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to load and unload from my friends pick up truck, it was lighter in weight then I thought it would be. According to Hans (aka Norgeway) the oven is very well insulated and will bake very evenly. What also appeals to me is the fact the sparse use of trim will make it easier for me to keep clean when cooking. Of course the fact that is covered inside and out in Frigidaire Lifetime Porcelain has a lot to do with why this stove still looks as good as it does under all that ... ahem rust inhibitor that it is covered in. I have already talked to John Lefever (Combo52) about that and he said he would check the electrical components for me when I am ready to have him do so. I must say right here and now that I am being blessed with good friends who are willing to help me with this project from start to finish and I sure do appreciate it . PAT COFFEY

That’s one of my favorite models, style-wise.  I have a slightly later model, and I love it.  I couldn’t cook without it at this point!
