I sure wish I still had my......................

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Geez where to start...

My family's:

1960 (or thereabouts) Waste King (I think) dishwasher

1957 Rambler

Our split level house that had an 18 foot ceiling in the family room, a 15' x 15' washer/utility room, and a hidden room with a low ceiling (storage) accessible from my sister's closet (great "fort")

My mom's 1957 Whirlpool washer with light, pop up lid and scary all done buzzer

My dad's vintage tools stolen from us by a mover

My mom's quasi-triangular vibrabeat Eureka vacuum

Our maroon "President" vacuum with the aircraft style aluminum hose connectors and extensions

1965 Swingset, back when they made them with really fat tubes, stainless steel slides and they lasted for 15 years even through snow and rain (try to find that now)

Our bizarro all white Christmas tree and matching cardboard "fireplace" with glowing "fire" in it

Our 1961 Pontiac Bonneville Safari Station Wagon, with the add on Mark IV air conditioner, white with red tri-color seats, power windows, power antenna and power tailgate glass, but no seatbelts!

My--

All my original GIJoes, Tog'l, Shootin' Shell guns, games from the 60s/70s, Eldon Slot car set, Hot Wheels track, Tinkertoys, rocking horse, etc etc.

I know I will think of more!

I wish I still had:

Our 1959 or thereabouts Waste King DW and the 1972 or 1973 rotorack right below the LK (like Gansky's portable); OUr 1964 Norge DispensoMat pair; the 1950 Unimatic my parents friends gave to me at age 12 when it died so I could play "washer". Prents sent it to the krusher one day while I was at school. Our harvfest gold Frigidaire Custom Deluxe 30" cook top & double ovens and the 42" O&M gas cooktop with griddle & burner with a brain; my grandmother's 1957 or 1958 single-door Frigidaier fridge with the"sheer look". If I think of more, I"ll post.

Do you remember this interesting picture?

You may have been the fellow that suggested it might be a Waste-King. It looks similar to the one in the POD ad, but you probably know alot more than me. I keep looking for ads to be sure, but have not found any yet.

Things I wish we still had:

1986 White-Westinghouse top-loader.

1970's Zenith (and later, Sony) console TVs.

1988 Hyundai computer and Panasonic dot-matrix printer that we got shortly after I was born.

Blue and red Eureka uprights.

My Electrolux XXX, GE swivel-top, and Kenmore Magicord that I had years ago when I was little. My mom gave them away to Goodwill while I was at school.

Dad's 1989 Cadillac Fleetwood.

i still wish i had...

My Grams old O Keefe and Merritt stove. Big old thing. And her Coldspot refrigerater with the slide open freezer on the bottom. Don't know the model numbers on these though. Also wish i had her Singer Golden Glide vacuum, Model C 10. My Mom has my Great Gram's Singer treadle sewing machine and my Gram's black Singer machine. My Gram gave my Mom the old black one when my Gram bought her Golden Touch n Sew in 1970 which she still has!

What was I thinking?!

*My 1901 Victorian house, 4000 sq. ft., in Waxahachie, TX
*Momma's 1958 Frigidaire washer (white)
*Aunt Sharrie's 1958 Frigidaire washer (yellow!!!!)
*Momma's 1972 Frigidaire washer (harvest gold)
*Grandma's mid '60s (I think) Frigidaire washer (white, turquoise-ish instrument panel)
*Aunt Sharon's turquoise Frigidaire refrigerator w/the freezer on the bottom (a foot pedal for the freezer, and lots and lots of chrome!!!)
*Grandma & PaPa's farm house near Muleshoe, TX
*My Smokey the Bear stuffed animal (When I was around 12, I decided I was too old for my childhood stuff, so I took it out to the alley and piled it in the dumpster, and later cried about it!)
*All of my WonderBooks (see above)
*My Radio Flyer red wagon (stolen)
*Grandma & PaPa's turquoise oscillating fan from the early '60s
*Grandma & PaPa's yellow dinette set ('50s)
*PaPa's mother's metal bed from the '30s with the wood design and laurel wreath design
*Daddy's 1954 GMC pick-up
*Grandma's costume jewelry
*The never-mailed letter from my mom to my dad that I found in Grandma & PaPa's house after they (grandparents) died....The letter was written when my sister was 4 and I was 1, and Daddy was out of town at a new job and looking for us a house to live in.....I read it and thought it was interesting, and then threw it away. (I'll never get over that one!)
*All of Grandma & PaPa's junk that nobody wanted at the time and was hauled off to GoodWill (weep!)

.....and one more thing

*Momma & Daddy's 1950s chest type deep freeze, white, with the handle/latch in the middle that I thought looked like an elephant's trunk (don't know the brand of the freezer)

this list could be endless !

I wish I still had:
my 1976 Buick Electra 225 Limited
my 1988 Buick Electra Estate Wagon
the all original Hoover model 29 I found in the trash when I was in high school.
Mom's 1977 Maytag set in harvest gold A608 washer and DE608 dryer
Mom's TOL 1982 Maytag DW, so it could have been fixed.

I miss my mind the most

"New" Frigidare 40" Flair, came from a spinster's estate, Frigidaire bottom freezer fridge, Maytag upside down TOL dishwasher, Maytag garbage disposal with flipping sink stopper switch, Maytag Atlantis set, 65 Lincoln with suicide doors, Magnavox home theatre in an Armoire style, Tan Electrolux Model G with after market electric hose, Sunbeam Model 10 chrome Mixmaster, Farberware cookware with Rosewood handles, The big house in Battle Creek with marble entry and 5,500 sq ft, 2 cycle Lawnboy lawn mower, all the kids being home, the dining room table that seated 14, dental insurance and all the stolen moments I was too chicken to experience.

I also have "Whipped Cream and Other Delights," on vinyl. Can't say it's in mint condition, though. I guess it's still around, haven't looked for it in a while. My mother bought it years ago, and all her albums migrated to me since I have the A/V equipment.

(I always thought the album cover was quite scandalous, and was kinda embarrassed to be caught looking at it as a child. Loved the music!)
