Absolutely gorgeous! My '66 Whirlpool dryer is also a two-speed.

I really needed another washer & dryer like I need another hole in my head, but it's like that whole "Moth to a porch light" syndrome... I just couldn't resist. Plus, except for the current minor mechanical issues, they are in exceptional condition!
I REALLY need to firmly adopt that "one in - one out" rule!
Mark (akonman): The high/low speed adjustments are selectable on the "Normal" & Perm-press" cycles. The "Gentle" cycle (and I assume "Knits") is set to slow via the timer. Also, the dryer speed is a mechanical cable control, not electric.
Chestermikeuk: The washer does 4 short spray rinses during the first spin AND the final spin.
Phil: They replaced this WP set with the largest capacity, TOL steam FL - LG set.
W. Keith: As this is a TOL washer, it has a self cleaning filter, not a waterfall (but I really like those too).
I never knew there were any dryers other then WP with the variable tumble control. I have had 2 other WP multi-tumble speed dryers, but I ended up parting them out because I didn't have the matching washer for either one.
27.2 gallons to fill? WOW! So this is probably right at 60 gallons per cycle when you include the spray rinses!

Perm Press has a double cool down, so figure upwards of 82+ gals total assuming each is a half-drain/refill (could be more or less than half depending on the water level reset point). Add another half fill for Super Perm Press.

Stalking -- er -- checking in -- on Harold and Madge
Hi everyone -- lovepuppy here, dropping in to see what became of our beloved Harold and Madge. When we met Kevin back in 2010, they were only used a couple of times a week, and apparently were barely used for years prior to our adoption of them.
Needless to say, with a houseful of little ones the past couple of years, they put in a lot of hard work! So loyal! My husband enjoyed taking them each apart several times and fixing them (I'm totally ignorant of parts, but at some point I know a wigwag (HAHA) was involved). But now, with yet another new baby in the house, he just didn't have the time anymore.
We are beyond thrilled that Kevin found us and adopted them. We miss them! I told Kevin, our new LGs are cool, but really lack that special something in our 37+ year old Harold and Madge. And who knows how long they'll last us...
Anyway, so glad you all are out there -- and thank you thank you Kevin!

Thanks for the backstory, love puppy, and you can rest assured Harold and Madge (a beautiful pair) are getting plenty of TLC in Kevin's hands. On LG: Several friends have LG laundry pairs, and all earn stellar marks. You should give your LG pair names, too. It may help you to feel more connected to them!

Well it is great to see Harold and Madge again. I remember the thread where they were first introduced. Honestly for this pair I could not have named them any better. The names fit them to a tee. I did forget that they have lights though. That is something special that probably was not present on many more Whirlpools thereafter.
