softener cycle

I was thinking the same thing, Peter. There needs to be a special softening rinse cycle option...overflow stops, softener added, agitate a few minutes and then final spin. You and your SuperUnimatic are just incredible, Robert. I love that Downey Free.

The regular rinse does what it does today. The softener rinse does a slightly extended overflow fill time in the beginning, then a minute to allow all extra water to overflow, then trigger the softener dispenser water solenoid only for a minute or however long it takes to completely flush out, then a minute or two agitation to get the softener really into the fibers, then the final drain and spin sequence with no more spray rinses.
I was thinking along those lines as well Peter, but with two quick spray rinses to get rid of any softener residue, no need to over do the softness LOL.

or any tub lights at all that come on during the cycle?
Those are on the someday in the future list Bob.

In dispensers without a fresh water rinse one needs to dilute big time in order to avoid gunk build up.
Yes I hate dispensers that don't flush themselves clean. Four gallons will pass through my rinse dispenser before it shuts off.

This picture below illustrates why I have the dispenser add the softener directly to the wash tub and not into the outer cabinet and then pump it up. The washer is filling for the rinse and I don't want any of those suds to come back in contact with the clothes from the wash. The outer cabinet is water free now, it just has residual suds left over. That is one of the wonderful features of a solid tub washer, complete segregation between the wash and rinse waters.

Very clever Robert! That is a very cool machine you have created. All the best features of them all, and plus! I bet you have lots of fun playing with that one. :>

rinse water purists

empathize thoroughly with the desire for rinse water purity. When using the GE, I stand at the ready during the rinse fill with an oblong Tupperware to catch the the left over soapy water as it gushes in when the filter-flo fires. I really can't stand seeing those suds jump the rinse water.

Robert, isn't this the second time you've used an Asko limb donor? They must be very happy at Asko seeing the Most Famous Frigidarian grafting thier organs. So cool and funny, but the biggest howl for the morning comes from Gansky's robotic arm dropping down the New Year Ball.

Hi Mike, yes the soap dispenser hanging off of the right (I hope that's correct LOL) side of the machine is from an Asko. I want to get rid of that and redesign the soap dispenser to be on the inside of the washer. I'm going to try and figure out a way to pour the soap in the red area of this picture. I'm not convinced that it can be put here, but that's my goal.

Good, much better! Somehow the contraption on the side just

and I admit to some weird prejudice of unklnown origin against Asko as if they're chintzy or cheap, but they could very well be wonderful machines--I just don't know.

After 30 years without a Frigidaire, I forgot how amazingly fresh the clothes smell after so much rinsing. This Baby from Greg overflows for three minutes after the wash and FOUR FULL minutes of overflow rinsing . That's a ton. A fill takes 3 minutes, so the rinse cycle replaces all of the water in the tub plus one-third. As I hung the first load with the clothes brushing my face, I had the Ultra-Clean and Fresh Frigidaire flashback smell. It was amazing and it made me so happy, a long lost friend come back.

In all of your pics and flicks I've enjoyed since joining the club a year and a half ago, I always loved how you added one perfect cup of soap and nothing else, NO ADDITIVES NECESSARY, THANK YOU !, and I can't ever remember you using softener. When and why did you start using it? I do not, except in rare situations, on the weenee sheet, for example. ;D ;D ;D Laughing !!!! It's Saturday Night...........YAY for Saturday!!!!!!!!

PS: A fellow direction defective and a lefty, I gave up on t

Now, I just point or tell the directionally fixated to "JUST POINT." Some people really think we're dumb to have such trouble. How nice that they have their left and right stuff down so well. What an amazing accomplishment.

Oh dear, Mike it sounds like it's using too much water. What is the model number? It should not fill up in only three minutes.

JUst pulled 'er out for ya

It's a WCD 62 Custom Deluxe two speed wash n' wear. Three clicks for the fill, four clicks for the rinse. Maybe the click is less than a minute and therein lies my error. Yes, Buddy?

I think i counted wrong because of the pause after the wash

I think the fill is four clicks in four minutes which means that the rinse replaces the water once not one and 1/3. My mistake. You caught it instantly.

I just timed the fill and it's exactly four minutes;

it's the smaller 10 pound tub, you know, not the 12 er in your Super U.

Mike it looks like the 1962 models use more water than the previous models, your machine is rated at 32.5 gallons per cycle. Mainly because of the long 4 minute overflow rinse. The washer should fill the entire tub and start to overflow (with a standard size load) in just over 3 1/2 minutes...

God I'm drooling to see this and can't wait to read

you go, how fast does this Baby spin? methinks it's not 1140--or is it?
thaaaaaaaaaaaaank youuuuuuu

The table tells all

I was always timing the fill during the rinse which IS only three minutes. The jumper starts earlier during the rinse. Why did they increase the rinse time and what was it formerly.

Good Luck on finding me a UNI. Pennsylvania has them all claimed forever.

Thank youSOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUch, but this is a really really wonderful machine. 2&1/2 weeks and I STILL haven't used anything else. How long will this love affair last?

it hangs juuuussst over the rim and maybe it will add softener and maybe it won't! If too many clothes pile up on one side of the tub it might miss!

Since that picture was taken I extended the tube a bit to make sure the stream hits the pulsator. To many clothes piled up on one side? This is a top loader dear, oh the effects of being paralized by an all Front Loader collection sure is showing Mister! Hmmmph, take that.
:)

You two are too funny

It's great how Robert lets Jon get away with murder. Too many clothes piled up by the only man whose Frigidaires never go off balance. What nerve to make such a charge.

Jon, if you get another Bendix and decide to throw out the Blackstone, please let me know and I'll fly in and fetch it with a truck.

What a wonderful friendship you guys share!

The Comedy Duo Uni & Jet...!!!

Ohh Robert, what you need on your SuperUnimatic Display is a mini screen that can show the Amps & Electricity usage as well as progs etc..

Just found this clip of the comedy duo Uni & Jet I made the 2005 Convention, filmed at Roberts before we headed down to Omaha Gregs, the Duo are explaining to Eddy, Louis & me how the Unimatics draw amperage when in Spin Start Mode...
