hello ultramatic, if you do find either a hoover510(white) or a 512(copper) I still have a few parts left over from when I was into them. they are around, just be patient. the hoover are very simple and quite a lot of fun. I sold my last two a few years ago. good luck, email me if you want any of the parts. thanks Bill

Hi Louis, CT is about the best color for appliances from the late 60s on.
The old RCA radio I gave you was Copper-Tone [ sort of ] you could just keep the Hoover in the LR near the radio.

Louie If you can get a Maytag A50 you won’t be disappointed. The one I had was a great little washing machine. The dual reversing impellers really did a super job in washing and rinsing.

Yeah Eddie the Maytag would be my first choice. Plus I'd like to keep it all Maytag in my home.
Louie my A50 was just like the one in your original post. It really was a gem.
For a while when I had it my brother lived with me and he loved using it. I only had a full size bed on those days and I could wash a full sized blanket in it with no problem.
Its the dual reversing impellers that make the difference. And the loads were never tangled either. Also, the spinner must have been at least 1000 rpm and sure got the water out of the laundry. I had a Whirlpool compact dryer in the kitchen and vented it out the window when in use. Most loads dried in about 40-45 mins.
I hope you’ll be successful in finding an A50. They are a fun and efficient machine.

Thanks Eddie. While the full size washer will continue to be the main workhorse, the twintub will be really just for play. I wonder if it could be permanently hooked up?
You’re so welcome Louie! But to answer you question, I don’t believe there would be any way to permanently hookup an A50.
There are no water inlet valves. The machine came with a detachable rubber fill hose that the user pushes onto the most convenient faucet where the machine will be used. I suppose if you had a dedicated area with a sink that has a threaded faucet you could attach a regular washer fill hose and leave it in the sink. But that wouldn’t be a real “hookup”.
Anyway, the A50 is a very fun machine to use. I used to be able to do my full weeks laundry in an hour or less, much like using a wringer, only the high speed spinner really gets the water out to where the laundry dries very quickly if you’re using a regular dryer.
I attached a link with the A50 owners manual so you can get a good idea just how it works and how to correctly use an A50.

the Hoover's spinner is really LOUD!.....
I would opt for the Maytag....its spinner has an RPM of 2000.....and its very quiet
