Insinkerator model 3000-2

Hi all I'm new to this cause like many I'm just "old school". I'm trying to fix a dishwasher that has not given a minutes problem until leaking at the impeller shaft seal. Problem is can't find one anywhere.

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this part or kit. (Impeller shaft seal) The part number is 51601 and may have a prefix of TJ. The manufacturer of the part was Music City Metals and their part number was 4084129. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The water seal these use are the same as KA, WP or even MT DWs used, posting a picture of the pump-motor assembly and the seal you need can help.

I've owned an Insinkerator dishwasher, but am not familiar with the model number 3000-2.

 

As John stated above,  ISE dishwashers are KitchenAid clones.  If you can post a picture of the interior and exterior, it should give an indication of which KitchenAid models are equivalent.  Once that is determined, you'll probably have better luck searching for a KitchenAid part instead of using the obscure ISE as a search term.

Thanks so much. The best I can figure is like you guys say it is a KA knockoff and I think equivalent to the 22 series. Here are a few pics with it apart and the seal. The motor has Kitchenaid on it. Thanks again for any help.

On the outside, it looks like the white-on-white version of my black-on-black ISE Classic Supreme, a KA 22 series clone.

 

I can't say for sure, but based on photo #1 your machine might be a 23 series KA clone, which is significantly different (in a good way) from the 22.  John (combo52) can confirm one way or the other.

Thanks so much. I have read in some old posts that the handle design was a little different on the earlier classic series. I know mine was right at the end of the ise "agreement" circa 1994. Think it was right before they all went to cheaper units.

KD23 series Clone

So all the pump parts from the 23 series will be the same as this unit. Most of the mechanical parts are the same as well. However, timers and such may differ from the actual KA parts in the 23 series.

Model Number

Probably KUDS23, KDS23, KUDI23 or KDI23 would work.  That particular part would be the same across the model line.

 

The different latch/handle assembly on ISE models was part of the agreement that allowed ISE to market their KA clones.   Otherwise, it was felt that they'd appear identical to KitchenAids, and at a lower price point would cause KA to lose too much market share.

Main Water Seal For ISE-KD-23 DWs

As I mentioned in my post before the seal you pictured is the same as WP, MT, KA, and ISE, you can probably find just the seal under a MT Pt#, we used to buy them by the bag full from MT, or WP sells a kit to rebuild your pump assembly that also includes the impellers and a few rubber gaskets.

As we say in my area of the country, "thank y'all so much!" I am so much closer than I was on getting a fix. Ordered the impeller kit today so will see if it works or not. Just in case, combo52 do you have any of the model numbers for MT that I can search? Only could find the kits because everything else was subbed or obsolete. May not be of any concern but know a repair guy who the information would really help. Thanks again everyone for your wealth of knowledge on my knockoff.

Ok everyone here is what I have discovered. The new seal came on a kit from WP part number 675806 and is about 1/16" thicker than the old one. The instructions say to leave out some parts and that I would assume take up the extra width. Put it all back together and thought it was ok. Waited till next morning to test again before replacing all the shields and when the motor started to spin everything got soaked with the slinging water. I'm at a loss. Looks like I'm off to the store to purchase a new unit that will never last half as long as my current machine. I do appreciate the knowledge I received from all your help.
