IF I remember correctly, and that's a crap shoot, Maytag bought Hardwick for the microwave oven manufacturing facility.
Crown allowed you to custom order your stove. You could have 4 or 6 burners on top, single or double ovens, etc. After their factory burned, getting parts became problematic.
