Saw this beast at Home Depot-just had to get one for my disposal collection-My-My how ISE has changed--They have changed these critters entirely-like they started with a clean drawing board.
First off the unit has undercutters-and for the food waste to get out of the sizing slots in the shred ring-it then goes thru the undercutters.
Next they have BOTH types of hammers on the flywheel.-cast swivel hammers and fixed ones.
they put in "rind flippers" on the center of the flywheel-You would see these in their older fixed hammer cast shredder machines.now they are back.Helps keep large waste items in motion so the other hammers can break them down.
A one HP induction motor with Solid State OL and reverse functions.also has the electronic jam breaker something like the Viking disposer.
Smaller spacing between the edge of the flywheel and shred ring so thin waste peices can't "sneek" thru.
removable splash guard-so you can clean it easily or replace it.
Flexible rubber dishcharge tube mount so as to reduce noise-but it is harder to install under the sink-you have to wrestle with pliers and the snap ring around the discharge tube.also the machine is VERY heavy-but powerful and quiet.Unlike many other disposers-has a rather beautiful brushed metal motor case-sad it has hide under the sink.
also smaller drain holes in the flywheel so waste can't sneak thru that either. They have made great improvements in their machines.
