I've got a Dyson Contrarotator at last

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hang on while I get very excited.

Here goes:

*Gets excited*

I’m done.

LOL :)

Wow! :) Must... contain... self... but CAN’T!!! :)

An excellent machine, Steve, and a very good buy! :) Excellent design. Yes, an acquired taste perhaps, but I like it. :)

I know Dysons initially had problems, but I know from others that Dyson did a great job with sorting out the issues, and owners are very happy indeed That speaks volumes for Dyson and shows just how good their customer service is, though nothing is ever perfect of course. I just hope Dyson can produce a good, profitable machine soon.

Anyway, I really do look forward to seeing these videos, and I am particularly interested in what happens when it starts - that is, beginning filming just before the machine is started. Also, I am quite intrigued by the rinses and water levels overall.

Thanks again for posting this, Steve. :)

Regards,

Carl :)

Lucky man!

What a find. I would love to have one of these machines. I understand Dyson is not making a washing machine anymore. I wish I had one.

Dyson seems to be like the old Tucker auto company in America just after WWII. I hope they stay in business. I want one of those machines.

I have not joined the Vacume folks yet because they seem to have an odd dislike for dyson vacs. I have severe asthma and it is the best vacume I have found so far when dealing with my particular health issue.

The vac. works better than any I have ever had so I would love to have one of these machines. To bad they are not in production or available in the USA.

Dyson vac

Oldhouseman yes I agree on the Dyson cleaner, i've got through several vacs i've not been 100% happy with until I had a Dyson upright last year. It performs superbly and I won't be buying any others again. Who knows when Mr Dyson will relaunch a washing machine, but i'm sure he will at some point and i'm sure it will be amazing too.

Now I must get on with some washing and more importantly videos!

Video start of wash

Hi, well a few probs with getting these videos done but here's the start of them. More will follow once i've got them off the camera.

I've done a wash of a large bed throw on a duvet wash setting. There is no contrarotation action on the program but i have done a video of it with an empty machine which will be uploaded soon.

Before you ask, the tablet shown in the detergant drawer is Tescos limescale prevention.

O.K. great videos so far but of course several questions:

Why does the washer have 2 doors?
Why do you put in an anti-limescale tablet in the machine with laundry?
Why are you using Putfile.com when Youtube is more popular?

The washer has 2 doors because the inner door is part of the inner tub and moves with it ie shakes about. you need the outer door which locks shut to protect kids fingers from being hurt.

We live in a hard water area and I have to use an anti-limescale tablet to prevent damage to the machine over long term use.

I use putfile for these videoes because the quality is far higher than youtube

The more I watch it, the more it fascinates me! At first I was skeptical about how harsh the machine is on the clothes, but from the vids it looks as though there is near no tangling nor tugging! Everything is just thrown all over the place! YAY! Such a dramamtic frontloader! I'm writing to Dyson now to beg them to resume production of and introduce their washer to the US!

Yes I was suprised how this machine manages to clean so well. It tackled stained white tea towels at 40 degrees with non bio liquid. (Bolognaise sauce stains) Normally i'd need a hotter wash with a stain remover first but they came out clean first time. same with white shirt collers and cuffs. Much cleaner than normal.

I think all Front-Loaders in the UK and the US turn as they fill because they are detecting the right water level.

Thats true not all Front loaders rotate whilst filling it just depends on the machine design. The Dyson rotates on filling Mike on all the programs i've tried so far. Does quite long tumbles too while it does this. I've never actually bought calgon so dont know much about it. The water here is very hard and scale builds up rapidly if you dont use something to counteract the problem.
Steve

I have heard about the huge cast-iron gearbox inside of the machine. Apart from that and the slightly different drum design it is not much different then a normal Front-Loader.
