I've got a Dyson Contrarotator at last

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have heard about the huge cast-iron gearbox inside of the machine. Apart from that and the slightly different drum design it is not much different then a normal Front-Loader.

Its quite different to most front loaders inside also funguy as the tub is attached to the door and is supported with four suspension legs as opposed to two found on most machines. It is similar to the ASKO/Maytag design which uses the same system. Gives much better stability on spin and does away with the need for a standard rubber door seal which is a big failure point on alot of washers.

So the inside door is attached to the tub and the outside door is attached to the cabinet? I do know the Dyson washers have a RollerJack handle underneath to move them because the 2 tubs, cast iron gearbox and the steel suspension legs make it heavy.

i just clicked the link and its loaded ok here. Yeah thats right inner door to tub outer door to cabinet. it is a heavy machine yes it was stuck in my car for a few hours as we couldn't get it out and had to wait for some muscleman to help us move it. lol

Yes all Dyson washers have the rollerjack. You just pull the lever and the wheels pop out ready to roll.

Hmm...

This is the "Gearbox" that links the drums together? How does it actually link to the drums?

As I understand it funguy, there is one large drum into which a smaller drum goes. The smaller drum locks in place and they all turn at the same time until the gearbox shifts the cogs to drive the other drum seperatly. There appear to be two drum spiders to control each drum .The link to the picture of the drum set up may help understand it.

hi
did you try putting your washer on after diognostic mode, it shows the temp and speed, have a look at my videos on the link below and you'll know what i mean.
have fun.
bye

Oh, that's why the display shows all that instead of just "Main Wash" or "Rinse 1" etc. Also, what are your chances of doing a full cycle? Probably unlikely since you've been recording them off a cell phone but then again, I never know...
