Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The doctor is in!!!! Ask away!! Somewhat carefully loaded, these cast-iron blue-armed wonders will knock the chrome off trailer hitches.

A spin-tube can't hold a candle, not even a wick to this. BLECH!! Impelleres are a lot better than those shmarmy spin-tubes. You could end up having a top, middle- and bottom dishwasher in your house, each service a function it does besty.

Three dishwashers

*taps foot* Whaddayamean? Ralph, I think YOU have something you should unveil, speaking of spray-arm dishwashers! :-)

UBB :-), Yeah, the spin-tube does great, actually, but what bums me out is the racking. It's hard to get a lot in the top rack, even though I can do fry-pans and plates and such in the bottom rack. We end up using the top-load impeller machine most of the time. Properly loaded (and with no pre-rinsing), it does a great job, and quickly! But if you drink mostly out of tumblers (we do), there goes all your rack space. Chances are, you can't put things on the side if the tumbler blocks it.

Three dishwashers? Oh, Lord. I need to get the washer and dryer out of the kitchen, still.

(So it begins.)

washer and dryer out of the kitchen, still

All good 50s homes had at least the washer in the kitchen and someties the dryer!!! Jst add the dishwashers around them!!! You'll outdo our webmaster and you know that's what you really wanna do!!! He only has 3 dishwashers, a stove, and a fridge. You'll have that plus laundry!! BEAR UP!!!

Who, Me?

I was hoping you would piece that saga together and that I could just throw in some color commentary along the way. After all, I was just your water boy ;-)

I can post pix, but the story wouldn't be nearly as interesting with me telling it.

Oh, and if you follow Bob's advice for the "top middle and bottom" situation, please advise on my move-in date.

There, I've finally found an angle to corrupt this thread. My work is done here.

Nate,

I couldn't believe it when I got home with that KDS17a. I looked around and I have 9 KitchenAids plus 3 more. It's Stupid. But, what could I say after a Painfull Ride to Narragansett that a Pristine Machine with no use was going to the crusher, Just get it and you'll be fine. ( Peer Pressure relieved) LOL !!! Oh Yeah, "Bear Up" ( Heart Throbs, Blood Pressure is up) LOL.

washed in water hotter than hands can stand!

Yes, those lovely hands of yours need to be preserved and protected so they may attend to Hubby and also your engineering endeavors and marvels.

The Eagle Has Landed

It's all good. The machine has been safely transported to my garage as a stop-over on the way to Nate's kitchen. OK, maybe his living room first.

It looks great inside, perfect racks along with the rest of the interior, spray arm is in great shape, and the owner advised me that she had just used it a couple of nights ago. It even has what I presume is a little stainless mesh detergent dispenser cup (either aftermarket or afterthought) that snaps into the front corner of the lower rack.

This is the first early KA I've ever seen in person, and I've been charmed off my feet by it. It's just so apparent that you cannot kill these machines no matter how hard you try.

Congratulations, Nate! You're going to love it!

Glad it went to someone on the list!

Our 12 just finished drying a load a few minutes ago. It gets run pretty much every day.

When In Highschool I dated this girl (yes, trying to convince everyone I was straight) and Her mother had this type of kitchenaid in her kitchen. However, the difference was is that the start switch was directly over the "freezer handle" that locked the door instead of being on the side as pictured above. Which modle of KA had that design?
