Keymatic by Bosch?

Found this old TV clip. Seems like the Keymatic patent to me. Did Bosch copy Hoover?

The clip is in the 1960's not in the 1950's. An aunt of mine had a Bosch frontloader with a keyplate. I don't know if Hoover had a patent on it or perhaps Bosch paid Hoover for it. Anyone?
