LOL
Rick-- Thanks! Love the pic! I found the diagnostic mode for the ECC readout...the ECM thinks there's no problem and gives me just the 88, dots, and 70, so I suspect it's a sensor that's faulty but reporting within acceptable values.
The 8-6-4 has indeed been disabled on this car, but I would like to investigate it and reenable it for giggles. (Will generally protests in the background, shouting "You'll blow-up the engine!", but I think it'd be okay.) Yes, right now, it's all eight cylinders, all the time.
Before I go playing, though, I've gotta convince DMV that it's worth having in Tucson

, and then I can get me some plates
Darrel -- No kidding! I need to save up my money and buy my parents a Porsche, or something!!
The way they introduced it was to come up to the apartment...then say "Hey, we have stuff to carry up from the car." I went out, and my dad (Cadillac parked to the right of their Impala) said, "Hey, do you know who drives this Cadillac?" Not recognizing it, of course, I said, "Er, no." He handed me the keys and said, "You do."
Thunk! Jaw on floor.
Bob -- I figure the xBox is good for its fuel economy and cargo-carrying ability. I'll just keep it in the trunk of the Cadillac.
