Sorry

that you are having such difficulties. I have been where you are. Fortunately, I was able to sell mine for a loss and replace them with something better.

Servicing

I am sure you can get yours serviced. My issue was different from yours. The wash tub bearings developed a squeak as the tub rotated (in less than 6 mo). A pretty minor squeak at first, but not to a dog's ear. Gradually, the squeak got louder and would come and go with conditions I could not determine. I contacted the store where I purchased the machine to schedule a service call. The service tech that came out said that LG would never cover the repair as warranty because the machine was still functioning. Even though the machine was well within the warranty period. I was told to call back when the machine stopped completing the cycle.

Imagine my confidence in the machines.

Not long after that, the dryer began to develop a rattle. Instead of trying for service again, I tore the machine down to the baseplate looking for the source of my troubles. I determined that the belt idler was bouncing around on the fulcrum mount causing the racket. It almost looked as if the idler arm was not the correct part for this dryer model. There was no spring washer or bushing missing based on the parts diagram. I was able to quiet the rattle somewhat by placing a rubber hose washer on the shaft of the mount before reassembly, but the noise never completely went away.

That is until I became fed up and sold them set on craigslist. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.

I wouldn't ever buy LG, ever!
And figure that there are persons that want you to think this is a hi-end brand...

Very fixable

I have the LG 11kg machine and it too drove me to distraction with the fussing of the spin cycle.

However its very fixable and LG know it. The controle bord on mine was changed for an updated controler and now only 1 in 30 fails to spin !

Contact LG I think they should do it for free.

As much as I hate to say it, looking on the inside of the machine, it looks very cheaply made..

This machine uses LG's new suspension system.. Apparently, the tub can only move up and down, not side to side like a conventional machine. No wonder why they are so sensitive to being out of balance.

I think trying to wash 11 kg, which is 25 lbs in a machine that small is asking for a compromise which isn't acceptable.

American style machines (27") wash that much clothing and they actually have a cabinet large enough to fit a drum that big with a proper suspension system..

Malcolm, I always kind of wondered why you hated your LG's. :)

Huge drum capacity!

11kg and over is just too big drum for the chassis.

These are standard size 60cm machines, to cram a 11kg drum in is ridiculous. There must be just mili meters from the drum chassis.

They have to have the sensitive out of balance load pcb on the machine or it will just shake its self to pieces.

Sell the machine and get a Miele or ASKO, is my advice.

Good luck

thank guy for the comment and thoughts, this machine is driving me nuts its repaired more than once this year and i just want it to go, this machine should be pulled off the market completely its not fair how they fool people into buying this machine its worst than hotpoint

i just want a new washing machine which is not going to give me any hassle, im extremely busy man, that's why i wanted a big drum to get through my washing quickly and leave more time for me to do other things, i am hoping for a miele if the miele does not work for me then i do not know what will because no way i will get a hotpoint/indesit, hoover, whirlpool. wish me luck I'm going to do a load now i hope that ***** of a LG washing machine does a last spin :(

did it spin today?

Well, with all these needs, you are as clear as someone could be - Miele, If I was at you, with that money I would have bought Miele the first place :)
