Hi all been a long time since I have posted anything. I have a problem with a dishwasher (LG). It starts up and starts with the washing process and then about 20-30 minutes in the cycle it will just stop, drain the water and make an annoying beep beep sound, and showing some error, unfortunately one cannot read what the error code is because the display is partially dead. The machine is about 6-7 years old.

Any suggestions / help would be appreciated.

Regards

I am not a repair person but being my danby has done something like this before.

Could it be getting into overflow? On my danby if it does a overflow or two much water it kicks into drain and then stops till I restart it.

Also on mine at the bottom under the kick plate is a plastic stopper. I have to remove it and drain the overflow tank.

Also if it has a computer board that might be the problem.

My LG dishwasher is the best I've ever owned, and I've had many. Unfortunately, although they score right near the top of Consumer Reports' tests, they are not recommended due to significant reliability issues. Mine is about 3-1/2 years old and gets very, very heavy use in my kitchen---so far with no problems.

You might want to replace it with a more reliable brand. I hope that LG can turn this reliability problem around the same way they did with their previously-troublesome washing machines.

Service Information

There may be diagnostic information underneath the machine in a little waterproof envelope. Might help you to determine the source of your problem.

Hi, thanks for advice, but we (my wife and I) had given the LG to my mother in law, and bought us a Siemens, but as you and I both know the problem with the LG still remains my problem. I guess I will have to take the old (rather young) lady appart and see whether I can find something amiss. The thing is I am quite dissapointed in the machine, it has not done that much work in its life, that is by my standard at least, I have had to replace the pc board about three years ago, that's where we decided to buy the Siemens, but replaced the pc board anyway.

So if its computer related this will be the second time. The bottom spray arm has an extra smaller arm that fits into the main arm, that also came loose and had to be replaced. Futher to that my own mother has a LG dishwasher wich after about two months of very very little use, the top rack's wheels on which the rack slides in and out perished. After all that I vowed to never buy anything Korean again.

So we will see what the end of the excercise will be.

Thanks anyway.

Regards

My 4-year old LG has started misbehaving terribly. The wash motor went bad, and I replaced the motor/sump assembly. Then I was getting a LE code indicating the motor was bad. After reading up on it, it appears a bad connection or bad control board can cause same error. Apparently broken wires are common. I traced down all the wires and ran continuity checks, everything okay. So I bought a board. Had same problem. Then poking around in the wiring found that it is indeed a bad connection somewhere. Back to checking wires - can't find bad connection anywhere. If I fool with the harness I can get it to work for a while, then it goes back to failing. In the meantime it seems to now have developed a leak (not sure if it's just something I did while working on it). I'm fed up with this thing. If yours has gone 7 or 8 years, I'd say it's at the end of its life - probably beyond. Throw it away and get a new one. I'm very close to doing that with mine.
