LG top load washer, person said it was grinding on wash cycle, and they’re correct. What can this be on an LG? The clutch assembly? Makes a horrible growling sound when washing.

I know a lot about the whirlpools and washers in general but what causes this on an LG unit without a splutch or belt? Doesn’t even have a slider like the VMAX units. I think it may have a little slider but is it replaceable? Don’t remember getting in an LG with this noise.

Bad bearings of the washplate shaft from failed seal-junked one of those about 10 years ago-as i recall kind of a concentric shaft where washplate bearings do not rotate when locked for spin. The undersized splines for the washplate were nearly stripped and the BLDC pancake motor was damaged from rotor magnets rubbing the stator.Washer was about 4 yrs old when i junked it and i thought it was a real P.O.S.-I do not know about the wash performance of these...
