Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Very Cool

I bet the spinning rinse is very effective with that huge force of water.
I wonder if it also does this during the wash?
Attractive looking washer.

The Harmony does. Not quite that fast though.

OH BOY:

WOW!

That LG beat itself to death! Good thing the guy wasn't in the room with it. He could have gotten hurt!

Malcolm

The guy on the video says he had a comforter and a few other things in there, but the instructions say to only was small loads (Like a comforter by itself.).

He should have used the “BULKY/BEDDING” Cycle.

This is right out of the manual:

Use the Bulky/Bedding cycle for items such as pillows, COMFORTERS and other articles which have difficultly absorbing water. ONLY WASH SMALL LOADS to make sure there is plenty of room for the load to move during washing. Keep like items together; DO NOT MIX large bulky items with SMALLER CLOTHING ITEMS. Failure to follow these instructions may result in DAMAGE to the clothing or to THE WASHER.

As for the error…

The real error was “USER ERROR,” but it sounds like the guy is blaming the machine for his own stupidity. What do you think?

The guy says the error is LE, but it looks like TE to me. So maybe it’s not his fault because he cannot read so he couldn’t read the manual. Maybe LG should offer a DVD w/ this washer. The thermister was probably jerked out of it’s socket. This is from the manual also:

Hmmm...

I don't know too many machines that will basically self distruct simply by selecting the incorrect cycle. If anything, the machine should be smart enough to detect a dangerous condition and either take corrective action or shut down and throw an error code.

Malcolm

I was just watching the video and all I can say is WOW! I couldnt imagine a washer self destructing like that and that was his 2nd LG washer that did that. It looks like the strut mounts are plastic in the machine. That could be one hell of a weak point...I know, I know...ya think! LOL..but seriously I wonder how many LG washers did this. What a mess.

Design Flaw

If it truly is a design flaw, look for a ton of the Kenmore Elite version to show up at the nearest Sears scratch and dent shop near you. LOL!

Malcolm

Damn, how fast does that thing spin? We've done some pretty unbalanced loads in our Harmony, and it has never done anything remotely approaching that.

Oh my goodness!
Do you have to replace the washer after each comforter wash?
The entire machine fell apart!!!!!
I could understand one issue or one part failing. But the entire washer falling apart???
I read quite a few post on the internet of consumers complaining of how flimsy the outer "casing" was. Several people complained of dents from their knees hitting the machine while moving.
Wow.

If you continue watching his video series, you'll see the washer also "removed" the front panel of the dryer. The wash action is pretty cool, though. These cascading waterfalls will probably give you the cleanest outer tub ever - but DO use HE detergent! ;)
