Line drying indoors

Well on December 30 I bought a house, been cleaning since then.
Today seemed like a good day to launder curtains.

I did 3 loads, the washer isn't exciting, a lower tier Kenmore grandma bought in 2003

Then all the curtains neatly hung on the indoor clotheslines

I had Shredmore nightmares last night after watching Nick's video. Now I'm going to have additional nightmares of a 1-speed Shredmore being fed curtains with lace on them!! Must have done a full tub of water with just a few items in order for them to survive. I'll show you a picture of the beautiful washable wool sweater my Lady Shredmore ate being laundered the 2nd time all by itself with over medium water level.

Congratulations on your first house purchase Sam!! A momentous occasion. I was 26 when I bought my first house.

Funny you should say that Bob.

Neither the 86 KM or ANY DD WP washer I have used shredded ANYTHING!   I have washed in over a dozen of them and never found a pile of strings after the cycle.  Oh well to each his own.  I've even known people who had trouble with Hobart DWs.  We are not all compatible with every appliance.

Bob, I've never had an issue with a direct drive, and those lace curtains are over 30 years old and are routinely washed in that machine.

Malcolm and Phil, thanks. Grandma chose that carpet in 1970 when the half story was finished, I have no intentions of getting rid of it I've always loved it

Tom, thanks I have owned that RO for several years, on the other side of that pillar is a RO-29 on a stand that I should photograph

I'm hoping to get a second washer soon, there is a dryer to match that Kenmore washer and also a 1978 JCPenney dryer
I think my list includes a 80s-mid 90s KitchenAid, or a nice Lady Kenmore or electronic Kenmore
Or my dream would be a nice TOL filter flo with lighted console and suds saver
So if anyone can hook me up with one of those machines would be great

Oh as for vacuums, I have roughly 65 Hoover cleaners in the home so there is one for each room every month of the year

Hmmmmmm...for a basic, BOL washer, it was nice of Sears to at least make the effort to do a "Water Temperature Lay-Out" on the panel next to the Water Level control, instead of having you otherwise squint at the dial!

My dad's aunt and uncle got carpet with a similar sculptured pattern sometime around 1962. It was beige and 100% wool. It was EXPENSIVE. Was still there when we sold the house in the early 90's after the uncle's death.

I always liked the previous carpet better. It was a low velvet pile in a beautiful burgandy color.

thats the issue with some homes on the market......you can walk in, and even though the carpet has age, it can still look brand new because of how well the home was taken care of, and you'll get some peope who will walk in and instantantly rip it up for some laminate flooring or cheaper carpet, like vintage appliances, won't last but a few years of wear and tear...
