Liquid Detergent/Frigidaire

I didn't want to hijack the thread in the Imperial forum but I need to ask from those who know more than me. It was mentioned that liquid detergent is harmful to the rubber parts in the Frigidaire Washer and that powdered is preferable. I happen to use Tide Original Liquid. If that is causing harm to my Frigidaire then it's going straight to the garbage can! Feel free to chime in guys...

Frigidaires...

Sadly, Frigidaire made only be General Motors has been gone for so long that a (shudder) WCI Frigidaire could be considered vintage. I believe that liquid detergents are harmful to the classic up and down GM Frigidaires, not to the WCI Frigidaires.

As for me, I don't like paying for a bottle of water, so I use powders ALL THE TIME.
