Hi everyone!

My latest find...

Through Kijiji, @ just about 5 minutes walk from my street address!

I have tried it yesterday - 'laundry day' :)

The large impeller does have reverse action - - it revolves in one direction for a period of time then stops for a few seconds and reverses - - speed varies quite a bit - - its motion agitates the soapy water violently, creating a sort of tornado-like movement inside the tub (absolutely no harm to fabrics however)

The p-o-w-e-r-f-u-l wash action of this little machine is quite impressive, indeed

And as far as the spin dryer goes, how silent and vibration-free it is!

Thanks, gansky

Size: lets say more Speed Queen than Hoover or Mayt A-50

I'd say it holds a good 6-lbs of clothes

I did wash large bed sheets (provided pieces are washed and spun separately)

I first rinsed inside the wash tub then rinsed again in the spin basket before final spin

all-aluminum wash tub w/ 9-inch impeller

8 3/4-inch diameter spin basket made out of metal with a shiny blue porcelain enamel finish

Looks like a early attempt at a HE machine

Pretty cool, hope it still works which it sounds like it does. Would have been just the thing for people in apartments that wouldn't allow a washer hookup. It might have actually saved water even though nobody cared back then.

WOW!

CONGRATULATIONS unclejohn!
Seems your building quite a twintub collection there my friend! I think you might have just about all the different types of agitation there is in twintub washing. Very cool!

Looks like Canada is a great place for twintub searching
:o)

Great little machine!

THe grid at the top of the wash tub will be the guard for the overflow pipe. So if you overfill it will simply drain away at the top and be pumped out when the spinner pump is activated :-)

Have fun with it :-D
