Actually the really big dogs go with tunnel washing systems. Faster throughput and so forth.
The commercial laundry/linen rental market in the NYC area is very cut throat and not something to fool with if one is a naif. Think of all the hotels, motels, restaurants, hospitals, healthclubs, etc... not just in NYC but Westchester, Long Island and even parts of New Jersey all use and or have need for linen and uniform cleaning if not rental services and you get the picture.
Once one has all that equipment installed the trick is to keep it running at capacity to make it pay. That is where the fun comes starts.
Sadly commercial laundries are still not fun places to work and usually are staffed by immigrant labour paid not nearly enough for what they are exposed to and or must endure.
