anyone out there have a good used non leaking trans for a maytag A700S washer? seem mine decided to start leaking oil all over the place.. i think she hates me ha ha, but oh well il just have to tear into it again.. if anyone has leads let me know...thanks so much. chris

chris tell me .........

tell me this is NOT like the one you sent home with me, LOL

Why not rebuild it. They are relatively easy to do. Old maytags are prone to this problem so the next one could start leaking in short order.

well

how rough is it to replace the seal in the bottom i had thought i was a real bear? this machine has given me one fit after another..when i got the washer the tub nut had broken off so to do that job the agi had to come out but it was stuck so like a fool i took a hammer and broke it off and in doing so i damaged something inside the trans and locked it up. then i got a used trans from greg m from a late 60s early 70s machine but i didnt notice that that trans way about 1/4 inch longer. when i installed that trans the machine would get stuck when it tried to spin so i thought i had a clutch prob.. got a clutch but it did the same thing. but then i got a whole machine from greg and just took all the best parts from both to make one good machine and in doing so i could see the orig trans was about a 1/4 inch shorter than the late 60s early 70s machine.. but once i put the same length trans in there all was fine till this weekend and she sprung a leak. should i just go for a seal?? does the whole trans have to comeout again?

ha ha

oh steve i already have a bad bad rollermatic here ha ha that child wants lots of attention. i always said they have minds oh their own.. then the multimatic needs to be cracked open again and the 1-18 is gettin really noisy and now the tag is pissed off. il give the tag a try it cant hurt to try, since i have the match dryer i cant give up just yet.. and then the rollermaitc will just have to wait til i find a good support but im trying....so steve dont give up just yet honestly your almost there with that machine just park it till mr andrews gets back over. trust me once its done you really like playing with that machine..hang in there
