Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I dunno anything about Subaru, but I can say now that Infiniti's service rates are outrageous (or maybe I don't know from service rates nowadays).

I don't see Mazda mentioned. My 1993 Mazda 626 LX was the best car I've had (although there have only been three total bought new), but that may not reflect on Mazda of today.

I know what you mean about the service. The Subaru will have a new car warranty, and the Infiniti is out the question due to the fact that I get more car for less money in the Legacy. Plus I like to get a new car right before the warranty runs out... hehe

Just in case ;)

GO BMW

I have had the best luck at the BMW dealership, they are always super nice to me, maybe cause I buy a new car every 2 years, I even get flown to North Carolina and put up in the Hotel, to take a test drive on the BMW track there.. The new X5's are out super HOT looking,,, good luck and I hope you find the best car for you :)

Love the X5, Not loving the price tag... With options I want, like the V8 nappa leather, etc... its up near 70K :D

New Honda Civic

Just purchased a 2007 Honda Civic LX middle of the road model. Gets great gas mileage. My wife has a 2004 Honda CR-V gets great mileage also.

They are buildt solid like the old center dial Maytags use to be. So far no service issuses on the CR-V. My wife first wanted an SUV something like a Tahoe. The CR-V was about as big as I would go for a SUV. The CR-V has a lot of room in it as does my new Civic.

Current Mazdas are pretty damn good - we have a 6, and it's excellent - very comfy and servicing and running costs are better than others. When it was in for service, we got a 5 as a courtesy car... that was pretty good too.

I've gone off Honda after the experience I had with the local dealer. I sold my Jazz and bought a Seat Leon instead.

I have a 2005 Outback LL Bean in Atlantic Blue and I LOVE it!!!! Its my 3rd Subaru and I'm from Dearborn Michigan, so all I ever knew was Ford! I had a 2002 Outback LL Bean that I had a terrible accident in 2 years ago. Spun out on black ice and hit a cement divider head on and then bounced across the highway into the guard rail. The car was totaled, but I just opend the door and got out. Thats why I got another Subaru, really big fan of them now! Heres a hastily taken pic of it in my garage

BMW or Range Rover??

I am planning to buy a new car this year. I, in recent years, have always been one to buy American but the hubby insists we need to get an import for me. We are thinking of the BMW X5 or the Range Rover. Personally, I really want a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I wonder who will win this one!

Volvo!!!!!!!!

Hey Jim, nice Volvo S60 in the background. I have the equivalent model from 20 years ago. The 1987 Volvo 240 GL. The 240 was replaced by the 850, which was replaced by the S70, which was replaced by the S60. If they still made the 240 I would buy a new one yesterday. Although Volvos are still pretty good, I still like my trusty old 240. I guess the 240 is like the Maytag center-dial: old, reliable, plentiful, and killed off before its time.

Safe travels,
Dave

Shane--- you should look at a Subaru before you decide on anything. I wanted the Jeep Grand Cherokee to when I was shopping, but to get it equipped at well as my L.L. Bean, it was WAY to expensive. They also have the B9 Tribecca, if you want more of a SUV.

Dave--- the Volvo is my ex's. 2002 AWD S60, also a VERY nice car. Volvo has THE most comfortable seats I've ever seen. BUT, the car is plagued with some nasty blind spots. I also have to say that my Subaru has a better ride, but all in all, the S60 is a very nice car.

Again with the Volvos!

Jim, why do all of your photos have Volvos in the background? This time it's a 740. My 240 has the best visibility of any car I have ever driven. I just don't understand the new designs, all for aesthetics to the detriment of functionality. I'm sorry your car gave its life to save yours, but at least you can get another Subaru just like your old one, much harder to do with people.

Dave

Accidents! almost like that happened to my Concorde before I got the 300M... I have been to 4 dealers and no one is willing to really work with me... I have negative equity, and not one dealer is willing to help AT ALL... Best deal so far is 3600 down and 520 a month... not what I really want to spend... So I need to sell my car... Its for sale if anyone wants it! LOL

But this is what happened to my Concorde:

Toyota

For what this is worth, my 1994 Camry has 235,000 miles on it, mostly city, not highway miles, and it has had virtually no repairs. I have always changed the oil every 3K miles, the other fluids when recommended, and the timing belt every 60 or 70K. It still had the original belts and hoses at 200,000 miles, and the dealer told me there was no reason to replace them, but I did anyway. I still have the original clutch!!! The original brake pads lasted 205,000 miles. The only repairs have been: one CV joint boot at 105,000 mi., and then at 205,000 miles, brake pads, a radiator and the other CV joint boot. That's it. It still does not have any rust whatsoever.

I'll be buying another Toyota if this one ever wears out.

I drive a 204 Mazda tribute, it already has 60K miles on it and we have only replaced the battery and the brake pads. I usually drive all my cars 200K miles and this one will most likely make it too. Even at 60K it still drives like a new car. When I am ready to replace it, I would probably buy another Tribute. It really has a lot of power to it and handles more like a car than a SUV. We use it to haul our dogs around in.
Hint, if you are tired of the disc brake dust on your front wheels go to ceramic pads at your next brake job. They cost a little more, but are virtually dust less! I went with slotted rotors and ceramic pads on the Tribute and the stopping distance is greatly reduced and I don't have to clean those damn rims every week!

Whirlcool-
Mazda Tribute is a Rebadged Escape.. There will be no more Tributes made after the 2006 year is used up (i think)
