I'm sure you can get a readout of the temp in the tub of your LG - LG washers display water level, drum speed, water temp and more... you just have to know which buttons to hold to get the readout (which I don't).
I don't mind if the temp gets a little warmer than selected. Most of my clothes are pure cotton and can take warmer temps. After all, the dryer heats them to above 60C anyway. Our consumer magazine listed the temps achieved on Cottons 60C with and without Eco. With Eco, the temps were as low as 35C, while some washers (LG?) went almost up to 70C without Eco on the Cottons cycle.
