Machines that surfaced in 2010!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

We are now in December and the time has finally come to make the drive to central California to pick up a washer that’s been sitting there waiting for me for 3 or 4 months.

Earlier in the year, March perhaps, I did something I would normally NEVER do, I bought a washer that was on the other side of the country! This 1970 Kenmore 800 washer traveled from Boston all the way to LA! Fortunately a good friend who has an affinity for Kenmore washers & dryers and has a way to move things to certain parts of the country for very little cost, arranged to get this washer to California for me. THANKS GORDON!

OOPS, almost forgot about this one....

A Kitchenaid (made by Hobart) KD-A portable top loading dishwasher! This one arrived in early August, 2010. It's somewhere between 38 and 46 years old (not exactly sure), but the "hurricane in a box" still works GREAT!

SO there you have it... 2010 had been a banner year for appliance acquisitions!

Happy New Year!
Kevin

Along came this...

Firstly the Hotpoint 1509/05 appeared in 2010! It is in store for the moment, but it will go for a rebuild in due course, and then a Hotpoint Spindryer emerged too.

Happy New Year to all in AW land!!

David (who is up to his eyes in boxes...we move to Ireland next week...see you all soon)

The Bendix shown above was a really good washer with a very gentle drum pattern during heat up then 12 min wash and very good rinsing the spin was OK but not the best

Thanks guys for posting the pics.

Kevin - Loving the blue colour of your Kenmore - a really lovely shade. Oh to have a laundry setup like yours - I am still waiting on the lottery win. lol.

Tony - the Indesit L8 looks very much at home. Really was an awesome find and good to see pics of it, as previously the only image I had seen of it was in the form of a black and white line drawing.
Keeping my fingers crossed that an L10 surfaces in 2011!

Lee - yep....it did get a tad chilly didnt it. brrrrrr. I am steering clear of touching our machines at the moment, as I just dont trust the plastics in such cold weather. Beward New and Next Generation facias - in this weather, brittle aint the word!
Cant wait to see progress resume on the 1851/03.
You will probably have had yours totally sorted in the time its taking us to merely plug and play! Will have to have a purple celebration day and get them all together.

Seamus - still remember my excitement at work as you drip fed me teaser shots of your A3112. Really is a stunning machine.

Mike - was racking my brains yesterday. Methinks a New and Next Generation Hotpoint turned up in 2011 too!

Chris - lovely Electron dryer (D6292 or D6294 - can never remember which colour scheme was which).

David - good luck with the move to Ireland! Hope everything falls into place quickly for you both, with the machines close behind.

Regards to all
Paul

and t'other one

...in the form of the other 1509/05 Automatic de luxe, saved in 2010.

This machine subsequently went all around the houses, travelling from Plymouth to Cardiff. Then Cardiff to Chester. Then Chester to Kings Lynn. Then Kings Lynn back to Chester and now awaits final delivery to me in Derby.

I have seen two teaser pics of it and all I will say is that its appearance has drastically changed from the picture below...

May...

...saw us adopt a Hotpoint 9554A Microtronic 1000 De Luxe, courtesy of Gary.

It had been taken to the tip, with completely seized bearings and a locked drum. A total drum transplant later and the machinewas working again.

Has since received a replacement lid, but awaits slight touching up of the front panel...

June

Half way through the year produced a Hoover D7114 Crystaljet Dishwasher De Luxe.

This machine had been semi integrated into its kitchen and had lost its lid, but is lovely on the outside...
