Can anyone tell me if the buttons can be removed from the switch, without damaging the switch or the button?

Do they simply pull off?

Are they glued or snap-locked in place?

I an wanting to swap the buttons around so all they all look uniform (not worn) on the same switch.   Is this possible?

Thank you much in advance!

Kevin I do not know about the model you have in your hand.  My Mothers A106 would sometimes pop the "Normal" water level button off when changing water level settings.  I think the water level is spring loaded and has more "snap" than the Temp switch.  She just pushed the "normal" back on till the next time it popped off.  I do not remember the temp push buttons ever coming off.  alr

The white (well, sorta) ones certainly are removable. I don't see why these wouldn't be removable as well. Are they connected to the switch console by one flat piece of metal? If so, they're probably attached with a friction fitting.

I can tell you that the speed buttons of this vintage are definitely glued on, and the switch assembly itself is non repairable (drilling out the rivets revealed just how cheap the whole thing is..amazing really). I don't know about the temp buttons, but don't even think of prying on the speed buttons : ) -Cory

FYI... these are out of early and mid 60's - 700 series machines.

I did try pulling on one of the buttons (gently) but didn't want to risk damaging the switch, so I stopped.

they don't look that different to me ....

I would just chalk it up to "patenia" and leave it alone.   Sometimes, when you futz with things too much, you regret it.

who knows?  Maybe you will find a NOS set of buttons in pristine shape you can swap them out for.  Meanwhile, happy susding!
