maytag de406 dryer noise

hello,
i have a 1970 maytag de406 dryer , when you first start it it makes kinda of a binding nosie when the drum turns over after about 3-8 minutes it spins and runs like it should . any thought's please help i want to keep the old dryer going

Hi Gage, Time to take the back off and give this dryer some servicing.

 

It certainly needs the blower bearings oiled, may need a new belt or two, if it still has the aluminum motor pulley replace it with the steel one, 

 

There are other things that might be needed as well, search for rebuilding MT HOH [ halo of heat ] dryers for more information.

thank you for your reply , i put new belts on it and replaced the bushing in the alum tensioner pulley to the right of the back side , what is the best way to lube the blower bearings
