Maytag Dishwasher Question

What is this, how old is it and are they very good performers? I'm tired of my 18" Frigidaire and need something bigger and that can actually clean a pan. This is for sal locally and I was thinking about it.

My grandparents have that same dishwasher. It's VERY loud but does a great job. I love it!

Noisy, water hog, HOWEVER,

It can and will scrub the chrome off of a trailer hitch! With a good detergent, this will clean SO well. You will be amazed by the difference.

im, this doesn't have thermostatic water heating.  You'll have to keep your wter heater at 140 degrees for it to do it's outstanding cleaning.  Great dishwasher.  It will be wy ahead of your 18" dishwasher.  I'd go for it.  It's probably a DU302 or something like that.

I'll just reiterate what everyone has said LOL These machines are loud. However, they will clean anything you put into them, and that being said, you could fit an elephant in there. Capacity is unmatched, and loading options are extremely versitile. I have been on the hunt for one of these machines! Maytags are just few and far between here in the Maritimes. Let me know if you want any literature and I'll share them with you and everyone.

MT reverse rack machine

Hi Tim these are good machines but the weird loading an the in ability to hold really large items makes them  a frustrating machine overall. I will always rank the WP-KM power clean as the best performing DWs ever. Some KAs would be my second choice with these MTs coming in as a tie with the GE DWs with the multi orbit wash arm and the filtering system. But both the MT and the GE have several serious short comings that have been discussed at length here on various threads.

Maytag Dishwasher

Hey John, the price on this machine is cheap and I've become fed up with the 18" Frigidaire's complete and utter lack of cleaning ability for anything even slightly baked on. I just want something a little older and not so good god ugly monotone plastic like everything is. It also has to be a portable, but not having much luck at the moment. This is what popped up, I hardly ever see the nicer WP portables around here though. I don't know anything about the Maytag dishwashers so I was just curious what it was and how well it perform.

Go for this DW

It was the next best thing to a Hobart built KitchenAid and equal to a Whirlpool Powerclean in it's time. My mom had a Maytag Intelliclean 9100MDB It had great capacity and wash action, close to the Hobart/KA KDP-20 it replaced.

Tim, despite whatever shortcomings this dishwasher miight have in your own household, it still has to be a far sight much better than that Frigidaire 18" you are dealing with.  I'd say go for it.  Price is cheap and maybe it will help tide ya over until something else comes along more to your liking.

Tim I would definatly go for this. As long as you have a good hot water source it will outclean most DW's especially compared to todays standards. I knew 2 different families that had the 300 series from the early 80's and the cleaning performance was outstanding. Plus once you got the hang of loading you could really pack it full with real dirty dishes. My preferance was always Kitchenaid and Whirlpool from that era but this is the next best thing. At least you may find the loading interesting.

It'll take that flower pattern right off the dish!

A very nice performer at a great price. Capable of adapting to new homes as well. This one will come out of it's portable shell and mount right into the cabinet with a couple of part changes that usually came as a 'conversion kit'. Most likely a single piece motor/pump although there might be an outside chance of being belt driven. A model/serial number would tell. I love that heavy butcher block top...
