Maytag HOH dryer motor question

Just need to figure out how to wire this motor up, looked through various threads archives but can’t seem to find any pictures of how the motor is wired up. Picked this up from the appliance junkyard outside of Phoenix earlier this year, didn’t even get a chance to take any pictures since I was pressed for time that day. While the Westinghouse motor still works, runs a little rough despite doing a thorough lubrication to it. Just trying to get a whisper quiet HOH dryer since the DG306 (when it was a DG306) is very quiet when I did a tuneup to it a few years ago. Just need to figure how to wire it up, that’s all.

GE dryer motor

These were good motors much better than a Westinghouse motors that Maytag also used, the Emerson motors were also good. The Delco motors not so great either

Just attach a cord with two wires. Going to two of the terminals, try different combinations until it runs, you can’t harm at doing this it just won’t run. If you don’t get the right two terminals, it will be two of the three terminals that are closest to the center, the two older ones are for the heater circuit.

Hi John, I may look into doing that just it be sure it’ll work. Not necessarily has to be done, just more so want something to since it’s going to be raining here in California from the hurricane off of Baja California in Mexico. May look into cleaning up and painting it but that will probably be when the weather clears up.

I may even reference this photo in the archives of Dan’s ‘64 Maytag dryer since the motor appears to be similar, if not identical.

Give me a few days and I'll remove the rear panel and get a clear shot of the start switch. I'm assuming this photo is from my DE750?

I believe it might be your DE750. The thread I found it in was called “Maytag Questions” in reply #8. I sent you an email but must have goofed somewhere since I don’t believe it went through, more than likely something on my end, though.

Thank you for the picture Dan. I could have referenced the photo of your ‘64 Maytag DE750 but didn’t want to chance anything. Definitely seems to run more smoothly and albeit the motor has a definite hum to it, doesn’t seem to have vibrations like the Westinghouse motor did when it was in operation. Was quiet at first when you started dryer, would get a little noisy but after running for awhile, seemed to quiet down a little.
