RECIRCULATING WASH SYSTEM

This type of water system should have few problems with clogging if and this is a big IF the washer is used properly. Lint will only start to adhere to parts of a plumbing system if a mineral buildup or other gooey build is occurring because of bad washing practices. Such as too little detergent, washing in cold water [ below 75 degrees ] using fabric softener and then not washing it out of the clothes and machine the next time around and of course the lack of LCB doesn't help. All washing machines ever made have had the potential for clogging problems if misused. As to Maytag versions having shorter cycles than the WP versions, WP is just continuing the Maytag legacy of poorer performance that you always got with MT washers. LOL..

Maytag poor cleaning performance legacy

John,

I'm willing to bet you yes the default times for comparable cycles are probably less on the Maytag. However, the MT has soil levels of light, normal, heavy, and extra heavy vs. WP's light, normal, heavy. I"m willing to bet you you can end up with the same cycle time lengths with button pushing on the MT with going the next higher soil level than comparable WP. But average consumer wouldn't know that. As Joe pointing out the Duet vs. Kenmore HexT time differences. I'm willing to bet you the same relationship exists between the current Kenmore Elites vs. comparable LG machine. It's just like consumer reports testing dishwashers using the normal cycle all across the brands being tested, but because cycle sequences and water temp targets are different for each brand using the same normal labeled cycle without options, the cleaning results vary. It's probably also very true with washers now days.

Oh......That's a LOT of specialty cycles.........I wonder what each of them do differently and I'll bet some use more water than others.....Especially the pillows cycle. I want one of these Maytags!....But My Duet is still working perfectly fine and right at six years old.

I wonder what each of them do differently

I wonder that too, but these aren't "shown" in the cycle charts as to what is default and optional and type of tumbling and spin patterns. Disappointed about that. And I feel the same way, but my Fridgemore is working just fine too. Also, the 9000 isn't supposed to be available, and I think initially only at Sears, until April.
