Maytag Stack 7804

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'm giving serious thought to going back to a stacked unit like this. I'm kicking myself for getting rid of my electronic Maytag set. I like the convienience of a top loader. I called Whirlpool to ask about the WGT 3300S and temp select for washer. Their answer was "if your water heater is set a 120 degrees, the HOT selection will be about 110 degrees". They did not specifically say that the temps were dumbed down. When I asked what would happened if my water heater were set at 140 degrees there was silence. So does anybody know if this unit dumbs down hot water temp? Reviews on the Frig units seem to be not good and this is the only large combo I can find with TL washer.

Installation...

Installing the Dependable Care model stack is easier in small spaces. The dryer goes in first in it's stand so you can hook up the vent and power. Then you slide in the washer unit part way, hook up a power umbilical, fill and drain hoses then slide it the rest of the way back. If space is REALLY tight or the washer bib is not easy to get to, you can pre-connect the fill hoses to the faucets before sliding the washer in far enough to connect to the fill valve. The drain, too. I've pulled the front cover of the washer, disconnected the drain hose from the pump, connected it to the standpipe, then slid in the washer and reconnected the hose to the pump.

The Whirlpool is a one piece and can be a real pill to hook up in a narrow space...
