Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I bought this fridge in white. It cost me over $2500.00 brand new and lived for 4 years. Needless to say I was not a fan of Maytag after that. But speaking of longevity, we have a Sears Kenmore side by side that my husband bought brand new in 1997 when he had the house built. It now is in the garage and still works beautifully! We use it in the summer when we have cookouts to store all the extra food that needs to be kept cold.

My sister, who is all about quirky and unusual, bought a white wide-by-side new.  I think it lasted ten or twelve years before the compressor failed a few months ago.  She has cats, and even though the manufacturer suggests that the condenser coils don't require vacuuming, when you have cats, you have to vacuum.  She never did.  She killed a bottom freezer Amana the same way.

At the time of the compressor failure she still had American Home Shield coverage on all of her appliances, so for the cost of the deductible she had the compressor replaced.  She's also going to vacuum the condenser periodically from now on.

The handles on her fridge were executed better than on the fridge pictured above.  At first glance it appears her fridge only has a single handle.  The two handles are more obvious on the stainless fridge.

"apparently it didn't sell very well."

I was going to say, somewhat needlessly now, "That's OK because they didn't work all that well either." I give them points for trying to overcome the shelf width complaint in this style, even if it looks like something from Leggo Land when the door are open. They just should have had a better refrigerator powering their innovative box.
