Is anyone going to Minneapolis for Roberts Wash-In interested in meeting for dinner on Friday night (May 14) at the Forum restaurant? I didn't know anything about it before it was mentioned in another thread. It looks VERY cool (Art Deco) and I think it might be fun for some of us to meet there for dinner.

Reservations are suggested.

I'm thinking maybe 6 - 7 PM?

What do you think, anyone care to join me?

Kevin

Kevin, did you contact Don? Maybe he can arrange something. I would not suggest anything until after 7 because of traffic conditions during the 6:00pm hour anywhere in or near downtown. Not sure how many are actually going to be here already on Friday night.

Thanks for the Bump Toggles and THANKS Robert for the traffic report and timing suggestion. No I have not contacted Don yet, but I will.

This was just a thought and is why I posted this here to see if anyone else wanted to meet up there for dinner.

Thanks!
Kevin

The Forum was just delicious and absolutely beautiful, although I will warn you guys that for three of us with drinks the bill including tip was $215. Many downtown restaurants are rather pricey here.

Depending on how many people would like to meet for Dinner we could suggest other places as well. So who is up for meeting Friday night for Dinner, in the 7:30pm to 9pm range?

Greg, Terry and Jon Charles will have arrived by then.

Thanks again for the info Robert!

Yeah, OK... that $$ is a bit steep. I am completely open to other (more reasonable) restaurants too!

Again I think it would be fun to meet up if anyone is interested. As to the 7:30 - 9 pm range, personally I'd prefer closer to 7:30, but again, I'm open.

Gee, maybe we should all just meet and stick to the dollar menu at Mc Donalds!
(ducks & runs.... )

Robert, you are right, that is a bit steep!! Count me in on whatever you decide to do. So looking forward to seeing everyone.

Terry

Tania and I plan on arriving early afternoon.
I'm sure we'll join the group for dinner.
Like Greg said, it may depend on the outcome of Happy Hour.
Can't wait for next weekend to see great friends and meet new ones .... and to play with machines!!!

Someone suggested I take a look at this thread as they were confused by it as they had been to the forums website, checked out the menu and found entrees from $10.00. I think that is a good idea and would suggest that if you are interested. Reservations can also be made through the website. I don't have issues with traffic, most people are headed out of downtown at that time to go home. This isn't a sales pitch, just a different perspective.

NEVER BEEN TO A WHITE CASTLE? Wow. Someone please take that poor soul for a steamed bun experience! Bring your Rolaids and Tums. ;)

What's a bump?

NEVER BEEN TO A WHITE CASTLE?

I think the chain is pretty limited, if the article on Wikipedia can be believed. I've never seen one that I know of.

Wikipedia has a link to an article on the original White Castle in Minneapolis. It's no longer a White Castle, but it would possibly be interesting to see in person. It's considered "historical."

Link to White Castle #8 in Minneapolis article:

White Castle (aka: Krystal in the SE US)........

Yes by all means take tums, rolaides, pepsid, immodium etc. They don't call them sliders (gut bombs here) for nothing - they will slide right out the other end in short order and at the most inopportune moment.

You've been warned but, if you must try some - it should be good though.

LOL! Have fun guys - maybe a future Wash-In trip will work out for me...... hope there are many more and who knows, some day down here in K-Town, I might just host one myself. Got to get another machine or two to make it worth the trip for folks.
