Congratulations!!!

Johnny, congratulations on your Miele find! I guess you've been told by your friend in Germany that this is a semi-professional washer, and the machine is advertised as having a small defect: it wont spin. It has input valves for hot and cold water, quite convenient if you have hot water available where you will use the washer.
Johnny, most 380 V (2 live wires, one neutral, one ground) Miele washers I have seen can also be connected to standard 220 V (one live wire, one neutral, one ground). You should try to locate the wiring diagram for this washer to find how the change of input voltage has to be managed.
Best of lucks!

hm... The machine is located at Willingen. I called my friend at he will come in touch with seller maybe tomorrow.
Thor I know that the machine have a problem with spin but I hope with your help I 'll fix it ;)

Congratulations on your find. Such a beauty and with a control panel on top. When my W1065 stopped spinning it was the back half of the motor that did the spinning that died and I would have had to replace the whole motor at close to US$800.00.

A service dealer went out of business and I now have his Miele manuals. The washer and dryer book only goes through the W1918, but it was interesting to read how easy it was to convert the washers from 220 to 120 volt operation. The heating elements are 1.3 kw each on 120 volts and one of them is taken out of the circuit in the conversion process. Although water heating speed is sacrificed, the lack of a 220 line in the United States for the washer is not the huge obstacle many people fear.

380V?

Is that a European standard voltage? I don't think I've ever seen that voltage in power distribution in the U.S.

Early Miele washing machines imported to the United States, for the most part could run on either 120V or 220v. My machine has two 1500w legs and one is disconnected for use with 120v power, however a special power cord and a 20amp circut is required. Miele did this up until the W1918, were only some of those models could run on 120v power. The rest like all models of washing machines up until the newly introduced 4000 series required Miele's standard of either 120v/220 power or straight 220v power. Some parts required 120v, others 220v.

If all Miele washing machine models after the 1918 could be converted to run on 120v power, that would have solved the "power problem" for Miele and boosted their sales dramatically in the United States. However again, that was not the case. It is important to remember early models of Miele machines were "electronic" with mechanical type controls. Once Miele went over to "Navatronic" computer controls, then it was not easy to switch power supplies.
