Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I was thinking that's what we'd see - a 1975 60-series machine. Not to be confused with the 1973 version with straight vane agitator and vertical woodgrain pattern. :-)

I have had two of those - one in gold that I sold early on in the 1990s (it replaced a Frigidaire I am sorry to say) and one in white which was in my looted trailer.

Thanks for sharing these with us Jed!

Ewwwww! You'd think they would have at least cleaned out the fabric softener sludge from the agitator on that Maytag. Nice finds though! I'd love to have that Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Washer

Love the Whirlpool washer. My grandmother had the exact same one and I have never seen another until this one. It was from about 1974 ? to 1990 when it was replaced with a Maytag. Noisiest Whirlpool I have ever heard. I heard that there where some bad motors that made a lot of vibration. If true it surely must have had one. You could hardly enjoy the usual Whirlpool sounds. But I loved it anyway. The little box below the Whirlpool emblem said "Silver Anniversary" of what I don't know.

All I found at the sale I stopped at yesterday were 2 aluminum 9x13 cake pans w/ sliding covers, an aluminum 8x8 pan w/ sliding cover.  12 Christmas recipe booklets from our electric utility (WPS) 1960-1972.  5 general recipe booklets from 1972 again from WPS.  A cookie recipe booklet published by Swift & Co. dated 8/62.  3 booklets promoting June Dairy Month 1970-71 from WISC-TV Madison, WI, WKBT-TV La Crosse, WI, WSAU-TV (now WSAW) Wausau, WI, and WBAY-TV Green Bay, WI.  A 1953 Christmas recipe booklet used as a promo item by Employers Mutuals of Wausau, WI (now Wausau Insurance).  And lastly, a cookbook published by our local chapter of the National Secretaries Assoc.

Just came home from the sale I was at yesterday with a beautiful antique parlor lamp.  It is all original and has not been converted to electricity.  It has a Royal brand burner.  The newest patent date is 4/30/1895.  I'm going to convert it, but will do it so that it can be easily converted back to oil if someone chooses to in the future.  Was originally marked at $200, got it for $100 as they wanted to clear out all the remaining stuff.
