Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Well so far this laundry hasn't replaced its over-worked GE filter-flo which they feel can by over-sudsing and doesn't even need the lint filter put in place...

And just how much Calgon does this place use, or get out of one small family sized box that lady customer just needs, for herself doing her own laundry, to get her own laundry set at home...

technology

I believe it was Whirlpool who had the most advanced technology when coming up with their direct drive washer. GE just pretty much copied them while their washers shook violently during agitation. I would've expected it to shake during the spin cycle. Whirlpool and Maytag sounded silky smooth compared to GE. GE just sounded like constantly screeching while it ran at high speed.

Sawing Noise

I remember that on their 2002 onward models on the sales floor. Push the tub and the suspension sockets would screech and groan. Awful noise, truly the epitome of GE didn't care. At least it warned people they were buying a demon lol.

The pre 2002/2003 model suspension sockets themselves didn't really screech, it was after 2002 that they started to have this problem which gradually became worse toward the end of the 2000s. The 1998 models at had silent suspension sockets. Thats not to say the frame itself didn't screech as it was pulled around by the snubbers being violently tugged at. It was not uncommon for those would break where the tub would hit the cabinet during spin.

GET model washers

They did use the excellent hanging suspension from those Hitachi machines that’s probably true other than that there’s no similarity the model machines had a real transmission clutch, etc.

It’s kind of a stretch to claim that the T model washers had anything to do with the 1949 whirlpool automatic with hanging suspension, it is true that machines with hanging suspensions generally have much better cabinet structure, and of course, the great majority of washing machines ever built, including almost every front loader has a hanging suspension system.

You say its a stretch then contradict yourself by saying both the model T and Whirlpool belt drive used a hanging suspension. Truth is all 3 model T, Hitachi and WP BD used a hanging suspension along with a tub snubber.

Most washers Norge, Speed Queen, Frigidaire, Westinghouse, Maytag, Goodman, Ratheon, Direct Drive, ect relied on a bottom mount suspension which is in my opinion superior.

Hard mount front load drums don't hang from the cabinet.

Oh, much indeed. The most silent and stable washers all had a bottom mount suspension. Quiet, smooth agitation and shake free spin.

My Speed Queen is the best example of this, you can set cups on top of the machine during agitation and it handle moderate off balance loads the best. I can sit in the room directly across from the laundry and not feel a thing through the floor.
