Why don't you tell the city that they can make everyone in the city (including the other appliance stores) aware that "The Appliance Garage" is accepting appliances that are from 1965 and older. Then everyone will bring you all the goodies! Sell them on ebay and have enough money to send all the scrap to the mainland. Or melt it all down or something. Also, it would be a small fee to dispose 25.00 or so and if you have to pick up 50.00.
Sorry, but these machines around here are lucky to see their 15th birthday. The salt air and humidity conspire against appliances.
I've decided to continue accepting appliances-I'm just gonna charge a lot more! This scrapyard problem cannot go on forever,so I just stack the crap up until it can't go no higher and hope the new scrapper opens up soon!
