I know you are gonna think I posed this picture but I did not.

Bruno always likes to go into the washer and play like he is one gerbil.

These are quick snaps-gotta get those pics before Mr. Curious moves on to something else.

awwe. they like small quaint spaces.

(And that is all I should probably say on tight spaces.)

cute puss-puss.

My old cat Kitt would lay on the warm clothes inside or on top of the Kenmore 600 dryer. When my parents replaced it with a WCI'idaire dryer, the cat wouldn't even go near it. Smart cat!

A good friend of mine sent me this recently - the dryer was still warm and her cat was in heaven.

...and in case anyone thinks gas is as clean as electric, I am willing to bet that the shown Maytag dryer is a gas-fired one. See grime by heat input vent/grille/grid. This is what I say envelops your kitchen when you cook with gas.

.........and those cats are SO DAMNED CUTE!

When I was a kid we had a cat named George McGovern that loved the dryer. One day my mom was in a rush, and slammed everything from the washer into the dryer and started the thing up. There was all this thumping, so she opened the door and out came poor McGovern all wrapped up in wet sheets, and totally freaked out!

Mom, being a Nebraska farm girl, gave him some warm milk with a little whiskey (her standard veterinary treatment for everything from dryer riding to giving birth. My parents were terrible pet owners) and he was fine, but he never got in the dryer again.

My current cat (Sputnik) has no interest in the dryer. He spends most of his life on the Hide-a-bed in John's office, and has nothing but contempt for all those yappy little dogs we insist on keeping. Since he weighs more than the three of the dogs together, they keep their distance.

David!

Oh, how cute! Bruno is getting to be quite a handsome young man.

Oh, Toggle----------

That Maytag is an ELECTRIC!

You can tell by the large UL seal on the data plate.

My Maytag gas dryer has the AGA seal on it's data plate. All 3 of my Maytag dryers have had the AGA seal on their data plates.

Neener neener! :) :) :)

Love and laughter,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Honey doesn't like my current (electric) dryer, but when I had a gas dryer she'd just hop in and fall asleep immediately! I often had a hard time waking her up.

I'll give you an AGA seal...

(American Gas Association.)

Steve...what is this obsession about gas?

Well boys, it's one of the few I can talk about here .....
LOL LOL LOL LOL

OK OK I'll officially give it a rest. :-)

I hate loading the dryer, closing the door, get ready to hit start, reopen the door, check for cat(s), reclose the door, hit start.

Those cats are great! I remember the cat I had as a kid, Smokey enjoyed sitting on top of the G.E. dryer when my mom was doing laundry. The warm cover, and the vibration was purrfectly relaxing! He's never climed in the dryer though. I imagine because the GE was painted with dark speckeled paint inside, and it didn't have a light...but then again, cats usually like exploring dark, secluded places!

I've got that same brownish stain like that on my whirlpool, and wondered what it came from. It's electric too. It won't come off with any cleaner! I was worried that the unit was overheating. It must be just scorched paint. If find that odd, since I usually rarely run it on high, most of the time it stays on medium.

I remember playing in the basement when I was a kid and my mom throwing a handful of clothes from the Laundromat into the Frigidaire Filtrator and the cat shot out of that dryer like a rocket. My mom just about jumped out of her jeans!

I don't wanna bore you all but I once had a cat named "Cricket", she was washed in a dishwasher and a washing machine as a kitten. Evedently she survived long enough to get chewed up a bit when I cranked up my old 1970 model Buick Skylark. She got it on the butt by the fan. She survived yet again and lived to be a ripe old 21 years old. What a cat she was. I now have a cat named "Monkey-Butt" that helps me in my shop while I repair washers and dryers. As a kitten he once crawled up in a dryer vent {GE} I think...and I didn't know it till I plugged it up to check my repair. He shot out like a rocket. I guess the turbalence was too much for him. Monkey-Butt likes to go to the city park, which is across the street from my house, to help me metal detect for coins. I swear to ya that the cat can dig up a coin when I get a beep on my machine. I'm not sure if he really knows what he's doing but he does dig, he is a good imatater of everything I do.

here is my rascal cat Monty checking out the F&P Gentle Annie washer:
We think he is a Turkish Van,or has Van blood in him, they love water. When he was younger he used to sit by the sink waiting for the washer to pump out, and bite at the water stream. Unfortunately he has grown out of that habit, though he has plenty of other quirks to keep us laughing.

Love the pets!

I hope to get a pet again.
.. and pets will still accept you regardless of if you collect appliances. It doesn't even matter how many you have or what type they are. Just amazing.
