My December 11th wash-in was less of a wash-in, more of a Holiday Party

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Kevin, thanks so much for sharing the pictures. Looks like you all had a wonderful time. Next time you do this I am going to get there one way or another!! WOW that coppertone lady is a beauty!! It looks like brand new.

How fun, wish more of us could have attended! That Coppertone Kenmore is just beautiful but that pink LK combo just takes your breath away in the first washer-room picture.

Thanks for the sharing the evening with us here - what a great start to the holiday season!

Thanks so much for the update on your party. I sure am glad you had such a good turnout. Coming out of the appliance closet isn't so bad. The non-Washer folks, almost always, are initially impressed with a spectacular collection and variety of machines such as yours. Thank you for sharing with them, as well as with us. Oh, and no need to apologize - I know from past experience, that when hosting one of these events, taking photos is easily forgotten.

Dancing thru a field of green...

One would think that the host had a avocado green thing... LOL! Oh, Kevin! You know how badly I wanted to make it but when the guy who signs your paychecks interferes... Oh well. Vacation time resets beginning of the year and I DO want to visit and bring a care package several machines big with me! Sorry that none of them, so far, are green...

Thanks for the pics!

It all looks GREAT K-man

The tree, the party, the machines - you outdid yourself!

The Coppertone Kenmore looks even better than it did here in Charlotte. That machine probably has set a record of sorts with how many AW.org members it graced from origin to ultimate destination. I know several members were involved in getting it collected in Boston, you and I got it from Boston to Charlotte, it lived here for some time, and in our northern Cal. plant for some time longer, and FINALLY it's now in So. Cal where it belongs. I am SOOOOO glad that this one was able to 'plug and play' for you without any attention from the doc.

Looks great Kevin - couldn't happen to a better guy!

I've probably said this before, but that 1970 Kenmore 800 looks like a kenmore 900 Steve 1-18 has. they were Lady "knock-offs" so to speak. And a very nice looking gathering. May not have been a wash-in after all, but a grand time was undoubtedly had by all.

Looks like everyone had a fabulous time! Food looks fantastic!

You have a beautiful collection too! Like stepping into a laundromat time machine. :)

Kevin:
Are you sure you didn't mistakenly get a 900, and not a 800? If not, What is the difference between the two? It looks very nice by the way. Looks like people had a good time at the wash-in. I use Plus (orange box) too! No pictures of that 1968 Whirlpool pair? Tim looks like he's having fun. How do you like that Clorox_2 powder?

WOW, looks like great fun was had by all. Love that shot with Tim and the Hoover all torn apart!

I love Tim's t-shirt! Hehe. Its Stewie! I really like that hoover. Its so small, but seems to give a great agitation. :)

Awesome display you have Kevin, and thanks for sharing it with us. The Coppertone 800 looks spectacular. I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come.

Have a good one,
James

Kevin, what a nice gathering. Lots of smiles. Was your pink Kenmore combo running? I see something in the window. Thanks for taking and posting pics. Your home is very nice. alr2903

Lovely collection Kevin, I wish the vacation time, and money to come see your wonderful collection, and see California too.

Time for a little video...

Thank you everyone for you great comments!

Bob and Melvin: according to the model number, it's an 800 series, not a 900. We'll have to ask Gordon the exact differences between the 800's and 900's.... but I think the 900's are "Lady Kenmore". This one may as well be a Lady tho... it has the piano keys. control panel light, detergent dispenser, quiet pack, Veri-flex agitator, etc.

Andy: Yes I do have a "sea of green" don't I? 8 machines back to back... hmmm. LOL Actually I think I have almost all the colors now!

Gordon: THANKS! And Yes it was touched by a few members hands before I was actually able to lay hands on it myself... that's funny! It's really in incredible condition! The ONLY thing I did to clean it was wipe the years of dust from behind the timer knob... that was it!

ALR2903: I did have the combo plugged in to light up and tumble, but it was not connected to water, a gas line or a drain.

And now without further ado... here is a little video I put together to give you a little closer look at everything.
